Lastly I watched
Maggie
A 2015 film with a 57% RT
I recall seeing the trailer and being damn that looks good. Then it came and went with no buzz from anyone except a resounding meh. And thank god for the Simpsons for meh because that's the perfect word for this one. Arnold does fine which surprised me. And I had another moment when I looked up and saw Maggie was the little girl in the film Signs.
Look the concept is great. The idea behind this film was something that a talented director and cast could elevate to great heights. But the film is just....there. it just moves along at a snails pace in a dreary washed out looking film that never attempts to captivate. It's a shame because like I said it's a what if scenario for me. This could be so good..but it never connects emotionally. And with a film that hinges on telling an emotional tale it's just a bland forgettable failure.
