Well I can speak to the common sense aspect of it because I’ve played and coached. And who gives a damn if the majority of people commenting played or not. I bet you comment on politics and have never so much as held a spot on your local school board.
Running the clock out with under a minute till the half when you’re inside your own five yd line, with a weak oline and a hobbled qb is so common sense that you don’t really need to have “been in the fire” to understand that. It’s basic football 101.
But let’s be real this isn’t about that. This isn’t about pressure or who’s done what on what level, it’s about your idol taking criticism and you being unable to handle that.
This is a messageboard where people discuss topics, not a shrine where we worship at the feet of celebrities.
Can't be common sense if clock management is a problem with a number of D1 coaches. Hell, a number of NFL coaches struggle with it. We are talking about the most knowledgeable experts in their craft still struggling to make decisions. But the message boards know better, of course.
Funny you bring up school boards. My folks were actually superintendents, presidents of school boards, presidents of NAACP, all kinds of leadership positions. The younger generation, us, D1 athletes (I was a knucklehead), etc.
It's where I learned not to hold these "if he would've done it this way" opinions on matters that I'm not familiar with. Chances are the situation is far more complex than can be understood by the casual eye.
There are legit criticism to be made but I find it highly unlikely that you have any of the answers.
If you did, you would be coaching at a top program. The field, like most revenue generating fields, is so competitive and hungry for talent that anyone with a speck of it gets scooped up immediately.
I just find it funny how knowledgeable you guys are about every sports subject in existence but have absolutely zero to show for it.
I focus on what I know about and attempt to make good decisions based on the data in front of me. That decision making has me sitting in a VIP lounge in Taipei, just passing time before my next flight. The youngest person in here, the only black dude in here (there should be more).
I don't know about all kinds of other shyt, I don't know all the coaching and personnel moves this guy or that guy "should" make. I don't know how this operation or that operation works, so I don't have a judgement. I'm interested in hearing from people who actually possess that knowledge.
I've never operated a restaurant so I can't comment on, "well they should do it this way or that way."
I eat my food and I'm damn happy that someone was willing to
put up a building, source the ingredients, invest in staff, and invest in a chef all to feed my already overfed self. I may like or dislike the food, but I admit my ignorance about the industry, I eat, and I move on.
Flight boarding. Enjoy yall day.
