I live in a 97% black neighborhood and only one person was in there when I went in.

Yep. I made my teenage son work the polls and he's been doing it the past 3 elections. He tells me everytime, less than 100 people voted from 6am-6pm. Majority seniors. And we're in a predominantly black ward as well.

People don't want to admit but black Chicago has a MAJOR problem right now. If we don't fix this, it will not get fixed.

White folks tired of Lori and the crime :manny: Chicago is gonna look very different by 2030.

I'm moving back in April tho, another productive Black man added to the city :blessed:

Just saw this on Reddit Chicago....ayo @beaniemac you be on city data forums? I saw your username in the Chicago subform but I was like that can't be the same cat :pachaha:but who else could it be

300pm voting volume report: 24.7% turnout.

Per Crain's, "Retirees are carrying the turnout today ... Overall turnout will be low to very low ... And to the extent people are voting, it's senior citizens, with younger people —especially those ages 18-24 — punching way, way below their weight."

Of the total votes recorded with four hours to go:

  • 15.3% were cast by people 75+
  • 20.79% cast by those 65-74
  • 19.37% cast by those 55-64
Only 10% of Chicagoans are 65+, but they represent more than 35% of election participants so far.

In contrast, voters 18-24 represent just 2.47% of the votes cast as of 300p. People 25-34 cast just 12.32% of all votes.

As long as it isn't Lightfoot in the runoff, I'm confident that Vallas will lose to whoever else comes second.

He's only getting like 22% of the vote and all of the other candidates are way more liberal than him.

For example, let's say Brandon makes it to the runoff. All the people that voted for Chuy in the primary aren't about to vote for Vallas. They are going to pick the most progressive candidate out of the two.

Also, when the spotlight is solely on Vallas until the runoff, I think more ppl will realize what a piece of shyt he is
