This pissing me off. When I first got to Chicago, I was trying get a spot in Woodlawn....I tried to get a studio with Pangea and they asses were playing with me. Then I found a $650 room on 60th...a White boy was renting the spot and he was acting funny style....my pension alone would have paid the monthly rent. I got fam in the city so I was good with a roof over my head but I realized they really trying get Black folks outta Woodlawn imo.

Chicago isnt like NYC. There is not a lack of land. They are going to continue to build up the west loop and other areas close to the loop like Pilsen and Bronzeville. There is no need to gentrify the far south side when there is so much prime land to build up.

They’ve already picked a developer to start at 79th and exchange. Once they get that stretch of lake shore from 79th to 89th developed the gentrification will begin. They spent a lot of money to clean that up and won’t be letting it go to waste.


They wanted the casino there, but was worried it was to close to Indiana.

Cuz the south actually has affordable housing. People would be smart to move out this way
