Been there once. I usually go to the one on Polk and Clark. Easier access to head back out south...or in the summer, walk over to ICON on Roosevelt afterwardsThey closed the Naperville location and the River North location next to House of Blues

Roseland ain’t the same no more like some of yall have said, too many dusty nikkas running around who don’t care bout shyt.
I remember swimming in Palmer Park pool, going to my cousins games at Gately Stadium. Block club parties in the summer. Walking with my grandma to the grocery store on 103rd & king
I ride through certain blocks now and it’s disappointing to see them decline cuz the old heads either moved away or died off
even tho I’m partially a suburban nikka, them summers and weekends spent in Roseland with my grandma and cousins definitely molded a young breh
How many of yall nikkas shop at Berkots or Walts?
thought queen of the sea was on stony, unless it was two of them, and honestly the only ponderosa i remember was on stony, it’s a bj’s market last i remember, right next to that Popeyes

I ain’t start Latin pawging til i started chilling on different campuses
nikkas in Roseland loved them some mexican girls?
I go there a lot.Yeah Queen of the Sea was a chain. The first time I went, my grandfather took me to one in the city that was somewhere under the EL tracks. I can’t remember exactly but must’ve been somewhere on 63rd street.
Ponderosa was also a chain. They closed them all down in Illinois...still got them in Indiana.
Or Strack & Van Til.
All facts it's same with education too my my mom could of went to jail for sending me to a junior high school out of my district but to finesse it my uncle so happen to live across the street from the school n he already had the juice in oak Park he had his own convenient store on Madison and highland in oak Park. Not to get offtopic but it's crazy how you interact with ppl early on in life & 20yrs later they become millionaires off their talent wether it's entertainment sports business corporate federal government even thottin. But that same yr in 03 I was in 8th grade word was going around about me being a bball player because I was quiet first month of skool I had to keep a low profile because I had to take cta n pace back n forth to school n my uncle sonny Parker told me make sure nobody follows me to find out if I lived in oak Park or not. But make longer story short any of y'all familiar with steelo off the mtv show ridiculousness? Well I grew up with him n his Bros n they went to elementary school right across from where I stayed but in 7th grade word was going around about casting for a baseball movie called hardball. They all went to the casting I didn't go because I was playing AAU during that summer so I was traveling all over the country that's how I ran into drose lil Romeo oj mayo Taylor king damn near the whole 06&07 highschool class back in junior. Me and demetri mccamey played on same AAU team I was the top sg in my 7th& 8ty grade class top 5 in the state drose was #1. Beginning of 8th grade we got invited to this annual holiday tournament where all of the top players in the state plays n i saw my name as the #1 player in oak Park and number 2 in the state drose was number 1. Mind u later on that yr Evan Turner was my junior high school rival n they said he was best player in oak Park before I came never even heard of em but one of my aau teammates lived next door to him in ktown on cermak and Kirklandim like this nikka on the same lick I'm on but crazy that me steelo's cousin became Kool she was bad af n this nikka Michael b Jordan n steelo came to my last home game in 8ty grade when we played Evan Turner this shyt is crazy to me looking back because Iman shumpter didn't even play on our team but was always at my games but never played with us he was yr after me I got stories for days about these stars before the come upJewel has the brand recognition and they also have the benefit of some very good locations so I doubt they're going anywhere anytime soon. Whether people like them or not (and I personally avoid Jewel at all costs nowadays), a lot of ppl (myself included) end up spending money at Jewel for no reason other than convenience. Another thing ppl may not realize is that Jewel is actually owned by Albertsons which is one of the largest grocery store companies in the country. That helps protect them against the Walmarts/Targets of the world.
The thing with Save a Lot and other budget/discount grocery stores is that they are actually more profitable than the bigger names. Even rich people are a lot more budget minded (one of the reasons why for instance sales of generic/private label products has exploded), and poor ppl have to eat too. If the neighborhood starts to change, the store will evolve to meet their needs. You see that with Jewel. The ones in the West/South Loop are very different than say the one off Cicero near 79th.
Man I'm getting old af Cubs use to be litty that was huge as grocery store it use to be a discovery zone I forgot where but it was a cub foods right next to it n my mom would go in there n go crazy with the stamps. I had a lit childhood finger girls in Discovery zone then get a snack from Cubs food hr later mind u I was only 9-10 at time we was sum mf lil hornballs at young ageJewels going outta business? No time soon
