I been saying this for a minute, they just need to make the Metra Electric some type of rapid transit instead of suburb to city commuter rail. Why build new infrastructure when you have existing ones already ?

Instead of extending the Red Line, some see promise in the Metra Electric

It’s nikkas in Roseland that don’t even know Metra run through there cuz they all flagstops from 103rd down to 115th/Kensington:pachaha:

How will this affect commuters from say Homewood/Flossmoor/Olympia Fields?

It is inside the Chicago Board of Trade building. Unless you are an alcoholic, always get a mixed drink with a soda and ask for the entire can of soda as well.

I was there yesterday. It is usually the only ticket in town until like 8:30pm when spots like Persona/Reverie/Drinkhaus start to fill up. Because of the heavy pours, it is great for jump starting your night if you plan on staying out after work.

So these are the other black professional spots?
Is Persona the old Cactus Bar?

When in the loop, I typically hit up-
Sky Ride - Dive bar on Van Buren, right behind Ceres. Generous just like Ceres, with a more intimate space. Big options trader crowd.
Stocks & Blondes
Jackson Tavern
2Twenty2 Tavern

Then typically end up at the League or UClub.

Make it a CTA type line with trains running every 15-20 minutes

On the weekend on the Metra electric it Be trains running every hour, that shyt trash

But won't that slow up the commute time for the suburban commuters on that line that are primarily black? And it already takes about 40-45 mins coming into the city from the Homewood/Flossmoor zone anyway, why would they want to go through all those intra-city stops? Unless this plan is talking about having a separate schedule that only does intra-city stops, separate from the existing suburban schedule?

Seems to me like they will be inconveniencing the primarily black suburban commuters which is something they wouldn't do to the primarily white suburban commuters coming in from the Southwest, West, Northwest, and North suburban areas.

I'm adding Sky Ride and 2Twenty2 as potential downtown date spot for the future. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, you are right about Persona. Persona bought the larger half of Cactus Bar and Grill and walled it off. The smaller portion is still Cactus.

In terms of black professionals, I'd put Persona & Reverie as having similar crowds that have more black professionals than the club. DrinkHaus is usually good... pretty chill (and slow) after work. Weekends is when it starts to turn up for brunch & night parties. You can tell by the way they pat you down that they have had some issues before lol. The last time I went on a Sunday, they closed early after someone got stomped out near the bar. There was a shooting outside like 2 months ago too btw.

Make everything from Riverdale to university park a express train with local trains transferring at 115th/Kensington

Persona is what used to be the expanded part of Cactus, the left side. It's black owned, we hosted a work event there for our Black Banking Resource council. Cactus was pretty dead when I went on a friday a couple weeks ago. Stocks and Blondes is where I'll day drink and have a drink on lunch if I'm stressed out.
2 Jack and cokes from Ceres after work is enough to hold me down till I make my next move, they just fill a glass with JD and hand you a can of pop.(actual pic)

I was just over there last night. Had to get my oil changed by one of the them street mechanics on the side of Auto Zone..:russ:

Hopefully it wasn't one of these briehs. They got to beefing over a "customer" and one guy got in his truck and ran the other one over yesterday.

Man, 22, struck, killed by pickup in West Chatham

CHICAGO (WLS) --
A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in West Chatham.

The 22-year-old was performing work on a green Honda Accord when he was struck by the Ford pickup about 3 p.m. in the 100 block of West 87th Street, according to Chicago police.

De'Anthony Means had stopped by the West Chatham AutoZone to pick up a few parts.

"The guy, Carlos, was going to show me how to install the battery on my key fob and then show me how to hook the aux on my radio," Means said.

By the time Means got back outside his car was in pieces and the mechanic who'd offered to help him was crushed underneath the car.

"I come outside to see him, unfortunately, gruesome. From what I saw I couldn't even identify his head," he said.

Witnesses said the driver of a pickup truck sped through the parking lot, swerving to intentionally crash into Carlos Posados, and kept right on going. According to witnesses, the pickup truck struck the Honda so hard, it spun and trapped the victim underneath.

"Just heard a loud noise and saw a car speed off," said Dr. Donovan Price, witness.

Bystanders chased down the truck while the victim's friends ran to try and free him.

"He wasn't responding. Nothing," said Ricardo Morales, friend. "I was calling him, he wasn't answering."

Friends said he was hustling as a day labor mechanic, trying to make money for his two children. Pasados was pronounced dead in the parking lot

Yeah. We used to hit up Ceres about 10 years ago. It kind of fell off with my group.

You work at NT? :lupe:

Plus Metra electric is expensive compared to the L. I walk two blocks and be on the red line and it runs 24/7. I use it regularly if I'm going out or downtown and I wanna drink.
