Question. when i go on other forums like citydata or reddit, Chicago is a tier 1 city up there with New York and Los Angeles. but most of the people I know here in Minneapolis came from Chicago. Is it a love hate relationship? Seems like white people love it but blacks either move away or are trying to get out. You don't really see blacks moving TO Chicago.
Nah everybody hates it here and secretly wants to move out. Don't let nikkas tell you otherwise, this city is trash. Most segregated big city in the country. Highest sales tax in the country. Most corrupt politicians in the country. And you only get about 4 months of real nice weather. fukk this place.

I just moved here from Atlanta. My family up here think I'm crazy..I tell em shyt if its that bad yall woulda been moved. But ya its bad if u black, but its fun. I already see why they say dont come to Chicago.

Some jaded dudes everywhere so take the bad views with a grain of salt.
People from all of the surrounding cities come to Chicago because we have more going on. Many people from St. Louis, Detroit, Milwaukee, etc.
You aren't going to get a great perspective of what the African-American experience is (either good or bad) from Reddit or CityData because there arena't a lot of black people on those sites.

As a black person that grew up in Milwaukee and spent 2 years in Minneapolis after graduating;
I've felt the most economically empowered in Chicago in terms of opportunities.
Maybe I haven't lived here long enough to become jaded though.
