How far east is it running? Looks like it would be by Altgeld Gardens
It’s white folk in East Garfield Park and West Humboldt Park now, shyt would’ve been unthinkable 20 years ago. They're definitely making a big deal about it.
But i don't see it as that. the areas surrounding the presidential library is the hot spot.
I dont see white people moving south of 63rd street..
My cousin use to call me dumb for taking Metra downtown from 103rd/Cottage. Was willing to pay that extra lil bread to avoid the BS and packed buses on CTASo they finally building it...The 100s is the forgotten.... Them 119 & 34 Buses stay packed during morning & afternoon school let outs I'm talking nuts to butt
Standing up all they way in the back, every seat taken ....And don't let it be hot outside....
I useta take the 119th to 95th, thats easily a 30 - 45 minute ride then another 10 - 20 minutes wait for the train.....The extension would definitely Cut time in half & probably then some..
Imma miss how 95th is thoThats like the heartbeat to the far SouthSide..

A high-ranking Chicago police officer died after he was shot Tuesday afternoon while assisting a tactical team responding to a robbery at the Thompson Center, sources said.
The officer, identified as a commander, was shot a little before 2 p.m., according to chief Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. The officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and has died, sources said.
Guglielmi would not confirm the death or identify the officer.
Sources said a suspect was arrested and taken to Area Central police headquarters.
Noreen Janko said she was walking back to her office building across the street from the Thompson Center when she heard shots.
“I heard the gunshots go off, about five shots, and then the stairs there to the pedway, I think they have the guy cornered because they lock those doors down there,” Janko said. “So they took him with shackles and then they put him in the squad. Then the ambulance came, about five minutes (later) they brought out a guy who was shot. He was on the stretcher, there was blood and they were doing (CPR).
“I was walking down the street and I heard ‘pop pop pop pop pop,’ ” Janko said. “And I said to the girl next to me, ‘Is that what I think it is?’ And she said ‘Yep.’ I said ‘Aw geez.’ And everybody is scurrying all over and I see the police head to the stairs there. There’s a stairwell there. And it goes downstairs. I heard that the door is locked there. It used to be a pedway, but now, for security reasons they have it locked.”
“Anyway, so they had him cornered and eventually they brought him up the stairs and put him in the squad,” Janko said.
As officers gathered at Northwestern, Supt. Eddie Johnson sent out an email to members of his department: "Today, our department suffered a tragedy that it is difficult to comprehend. This afternoon, a CPD commander was shot while assisting fellow officers. Information is still coming in at this time, but I wanted you to know as soon as possible. We will provide additional details as they come. Please take the time to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. Stay safe."
Outside the emergency room entrance, about a dozen plainclothes officers gathered in the middle of Erie Street. A number of marked and unmarked police and Chicago Fire Department vehicles, some of them with emergency lights flashing, were parked outside.
A uniformed officer hugged another officer in the middle of the street.
At the scene of the shooting, officers stretched crime tape from City Hall to the Thompson Center. A police command van arrived at 2:25 p.m.
Federal agents and Illinois state police joined Chicago detectives. Onlookers crowded the corners, and people at times had to dodge falling ice. Many workers said they could not get back into the buildings.

My homegirl a cop and called me saying who it was but I aint saying shyt the name because they arent releasing it either.
Chicago ain't have a cop to get killed since 2011 if I remember correctly
What she knew then is what they have already released I think. She said dude tried to rob a Starbucks and a tac team was moving on it but the commander dude tried to get his face in the paper offduty and chased/tussled with the guy and got shot in the chest and head. Ive also heard that they thought it was an arms deal going down that they were already investigating and dude dipped, then the shooting. The latter sounds like bullshyt to act like they were on top of if already. What she said is more likely the truth. Dont know how much the story has changed since i posted yesterday. I seriously could not care less. I dunno why she even thougt to talk to me about it, she knows my stance. I cut her off when SHE became a cop. Only recently eased off her neck cause she a rider for me.Did she tell you that it was friendly fire? Sounds like they're trying to get the story together
Nah tactical cops was bout to do a arrest warrant on the shooter cuz they knew he had drugs and shyt on himSomething sounds off about this. Breh robbed a Starbucks with a vest, extended mag, coke and heroin on him, ran away from cops, got into a scuffle and shot the officer twice?
Just heard an ad on the radio about the deadline to apply. Good luck to youI got called up to start processing for the Chicago police dept
my ass finna move to mt Greenwood if I get in that bytch
