I work in the media here and have covered a lot of the murders that have happened here since I started in 2015. I’ll say this, you just have to know where you can or can’t go. A lot of the crime happens in certain places which is pretty sad but it is what it is. I feel safer here than I felt in my hometown before I left there( Augusta, Ga) I was there after a 7 year old was killed in a drive by. I remember when a 14 year old was killed in another drive by, and I was there after that beautiful young black Woman was killed in traffic after a shootout on North Tryon. I’ve also seen this city come together and be strong for each other after shyt like that happens. I mean I walk the streets of uptown all the time and nothing happens to me.. I’m not saying shyt don’t happen to others, I’m just saying I be good out here.

The Keith Scott protests... I was out there every single night... while a few people caused problems, most of the folks were really out there to try and make a difference. I’ll never forget talking to folks all masked up out there having regular conversations about police and whatnot. The aftermath of the protests were beautiful too man. Anyway yeah shyt happens here but it’s whatever. You can’t let shyt bother you.. go live your life.

I here you. That is why I’m on my way down to Charlotte. I understand every big city has places you need to be on your p’s and q’s. But here in Detroit, breh it’s really hit and miss. I need a new lease in life

Charlotte is changing...and it's a mixed bag. A lot of it's folksy charm and laid back climate has evaporated with the strong growth.

That a tad disheartening to hear, but I bet in its current state it is better than Detroit.

As a transplant I would to look towards maintaining the organic charm/culture of a city rather than trying to replicate things that remind me of were I left.

Forgive me.

Charlotte is a great city and I believe you'd enjoy it here honestly..please disregard any negative connotations I may have passed off in my prior post. I'm just lamenting the inability of the government to handle to side effects of growth and change.

Now this is 100% truth. The place is growing way too fast.

Don't have enough cops, crimes been ramping up year over year..I was in Uptown a week ago at around 3 AM. Tryon was literally a homeless camp, mean mug nikkas roaming around like we was on set for a Mad Max sequel.

Don't have enough roads or infrastructure..building homes on top of homes though. They're desperately trying to catch up which is why they got hoodwinked with that 77 toll road bullshyt plus a lot of folks got paid off with bribes with that shyt.

They already talking about raising taxes to keep up with the bullshyt.

That toll road shyt is one of the worst things to happen to this area smh. Man not enough people even use it to justify having it. Roads fukked up, police leaving and they’re having trouble replacing them. I get mad at them building all these damn buildings covering up all these skyline views man smh. I’m a photographer and I used to enjoy capturing the skyline. We are running out of spots though. Yeah I ain’t trying to
Be nowhere near Tryon that time of morning. Nope.

Nah, you are good it didn’t come off negative at all. It is hard to maintain a certain soul of a city while it is rapidly changing. I appreciate the honest sentiment

South Boulevard was a mess last time I went. Giant condos casting shadows over the road and other buildings and the other side of a two way road is a tiny strip mall. Like no kind of thought went into it.

Yeah I left five years ago. Price’s Chicken Coop was the only food joint next to that station. I came back and there are so many restaurants but Price’s still in the same old building next to these shiny new buildings.

Haven't seen a photo of Cam Newton since last season and didn't realize he has freeform locs. I guess now that Jerry "No Tats, No Piercings, Clean Cut" Richardson:mjpls: is out of the picture he can finally be himself.

And bring back the lombardi trophy this time while he's at it:unimpressed:
