I still can’t believe Rock Bottom went out of business.

That spot was like a staple of Uptown QC restaurants.

Anyone know the story of why?

I only heard the day they decided to shut down they told the workers there around lunch time and shyt hit the fan

It was a restaurant and brewery.

They had decent food in there. My company used to throw parties there so I ate there a lot for free (or company bill rather)

Not gonna feel the same not seeing it there. I hope someone scoops that location up and puts something there quick.

Cuz that’s a great spot to be Uptown..... if I had the money and was in that business. I’d do something there

They had decent food in there. My company used to throw parties there so I ate there a lot for free (or company bill rather)

Not gonna feel the same not seeing it there. I hope someone scoops that location up and puts something there quick.

Epicenter killed it.

Too far out of the way..the location would be good for a club tbh, turn that latter part of Tryon into another section of nightlife along with Sip, Imperial and Lucky's.

True but I’d think with all them condos and places closer to they area intead of the Epicenter, they’d eat well there.

Like that was pretty much the closet real restaurant for them .

That’s crazy, I been saying their needs to be some more food spots and entertainment for the N Tryon folks who here too far from Epicenter

Talking about Tryon..The area behind the Men's Shelter is being redeveloped into 150-200k condos, right alongside the rail line. Gonna have a street that cuts right through for easy access to NODA. That whole area is about to be razed, it's gonna be interesting to see what Urban Ministry is gonna do within five years..the lot right next to theirs is appraised at 15 million right now.

The area from SkyView condominiums going all the way down to the 7 Eleven at Dalton is being targeted for heavy redevelopment.. property values are skyrocketing.

Hell, the two county buildings right across from the SkyView are in the process of being bought out by developers. They're really trying to expand the skyline northward and eastward of the city by 2025.

She used to have a prosthetic and opted to just use crutches for some reason.

The city was trying to get the state to sell the old jail that's off Billy Graham so that the shelter could relocate. The logistics didn't work because of no bus route and it being so far from uptown (which was the point). They did that multi million dollar renovation but it was clearly explained that they would wind up selling the property when the time came.

Change is inevitable..the homeless will more than likely either be more scattered around or concentrated further Uptown.

Knowing Charlotte... They aren't going to do anything, to they might match a community fund, but they just gunna let the homeless be worse off than before, I don't see the city caring, they gunna be just like atlanta

Just read the article. I used to hit that spot up a couple of times before Hornets game. It seems they were not getting that much business. Plus, they are on the end of Tryon St. so not much traffic on that end of the street, and you have to pay to park and eat over there. Limited business and high cost for rent each month, they were on borrowed time.

Cuz I thought they did pretty well during lunchtime and weekends still
