That’s a bit harsh.
I criticize him heavily for turning his back to challenges after the Bivol L but I’d include Jacobs and Callum Smith too among the “difficult” opponents even though Smith was proven to be no match at all. Still at the time he was a very legit opponent, so was BJS and Jacobs. 8 legit fights out of 15 is not bad at all

Canelo had a great run from the first GGG fight in 2017 through the last GGG fight in 2022. Only had 2 tune up fights out of 10 in that period and one of those was a mandatory. You have to give that to him.

The problem is what he’s done (and continues to do) in the last 2 years.

Yeah thats fair re Smith, Jacobs was gallant and strong willed, but it's hard to argue he was in the mix before or after. Yildrim, Rocky Fielding, Tiny fukking John Ryder, Jermell Charlo (a fukking super welterweight ffs). fukk all that post Gennady to Gennady 2 talk, that simplifies the discussion and places his career in segments, which is flattering. His career since GGG 2 is has some top calibre fights, but many suspect moves, both in a side tactics against top fighters, and many one sided match ups.

Louis had that nice, short, right hand, kept it close to his body, using his momentum and weight, clipped them right at the end of the motion with it.

But yet somehow he gets to keep those belts, it's disgusting. Now he's fighting a 147 fighter who has had one fight at 154. You can't make up bullshyt that stinks this much.

notice the tone, when it was PBC everyone was like "PBC killed boxing see", when I said back then Boxing makes no money and these media companies are drowning in Debt due to the bet on Streaming and many don't see the point with how Niche Boxing is. This is what even created the atmosphere for Turki to swoop in. ESPN is the USAs defecto Sports platform so for them to have rumors is much more shocking compared to platforms where Sports was never really their thing.

Having all your mega fights in a Country where nobody gives a shyt and all the non citizens were paid to be in the crowd is horrible culturally. Then after the Bud fight flopped in Cali it's going to be interesting to see how Turki used the "Ring Cards" angle since Saudi said they didn't want to really invest in fights outside of the Kingdom (if the Riyahd Season banner is being used).

Canelo is on his way out so many things "normalize" once he is gone because his purse alone tends to be 2-4X the cost of like 98% of Boxing cards lol.

That said until there is a machine push to make Boxing apart of USA culture again then shyt is dead.

If TR becomes a ProBox type Journeyman/Prospect thing then sure (or they leverage a CW type network for those kinda cards, and then Dazn for the "graduation" main event type fights)
