Dan Rafael chat wrap 11/3:

- Believes Bivol vs. Barrera is HBO's plan for next year. Would be a good fight and would pick Bivol based on his youth and skills.

nah...

Bivol is nice, but he has holes... he won't be the top LHW guy not anytime soon and Barrera would probably beat him on points or TKO him

based on youth and skills? :russ:

Bivol's youth in this case is rather a disadvantage cause he's still not a fully developed fighter imo and Barrera is fresh as a 35 years old, he doesn't look shopworn or punch drunk or anything

as for skills, Barrera learned his shyt in the Cuban school, Barrera is more skilled, he would 1-2 on Bivol's head all night imo

I had just really gotten into boxing a bit before that and enjoyed watching both guys. I had Winky winning and I will remember it because that was the first fight I had watched that I felt like the more marketable fighter got the undeserved win.

A lot of people have different opinions on this fight.

:yeshrug:

I also thought Winky beat Vargas :porter:

Might be worth a rewatch then :myman:

As best fighters who never won a title? Nah...

Sam Langford it is and that’s pretty much the unanimous decision among every boxing historian, not coincidentally.
Well Sam is just one fighter..there are plenty historically...i think Dan was prolly thinking in more recent times and those 2, tua and carr, are good choices

It's actually smart to me:hubie:

As long as he's mandatory, he will always be in position to face Stevenson "next", however, he's getting paid to NOT fight and risk an "0" on his record from Stevenson which would kill off his position being that he has no fanbase and doesn't speak English or French in order to create one:manny:

If Stevenson is willing to pay him to not fight, he should take it & then go beat an easier opp which = a double payday and still remaining mandatory to face Stevenson next.:ehh:

well it looks like alvarez will get a title shot...it wont be against superman though

but bivol would have have to retain his title tonight for that to happen

that bivol fight is actually being aired on hbo at 545 ET today...ehh prolly will miss that one catch a replay later
