Wilder turns 32 next month. From my understanding, Team Joshua would like to fight Wilder when he's about 34 years old. Joshua would still have that four year age advantage and the plan is to utilize that advantage. Therefore, he's not ducking Deontay at all. He just wants to give the fight some time, which is not unheard of in boxing. It's probably a bigger fight in two years anyway, which means more money for the fighters.
Personally, I don't think it's going to be the advantage that Hearn is hoping for. For one, I don't believe Wilder has too much wear and tear and won't be in any wars prior to this fight. Based on the way things are going, Wilder probably will just have one fight anyway until he's age 34, therefore he won't be too worn out.
Heavyweight division is definitely becoming interesting. I can't wait to see this fight in 2019-2020. Should be the mega fight the heavyweight division is craving. I imagine all the stars will be there. Maybe we can get 2 or 3 fights out of this one.
