Ward went trying to get a fight with fukkin Frank Buglioni :snoop: its clear Ward is in a position now where hes only looking for the big money fights (he was probably gonna call out the winner of Canelo-GGG but they got fukked into a draw..) or at the very least an easy stay busy fight while he really figures out his next move

Honestly though 175 is stacked right now but Wards in a position where every fight left in this division is high risk low reward

HBO has rejected various opponents that Ward's Team has proposed over the years. Just imagine if he had 100% control over his matchmaking with no input from the network. :russ:

I think Andre is technically a free agent right now (Someone from Team SOG correct me here), so it'll be quite interesting going forward

sounds like canelo dont want no more smoke with GGG and hes the motherfukker that has the rematch clause lol
just like ward didn't want no more smoke with kovalev right:comeon:......we already know the rematch will happen in may. canelo just doing what A sides do and letting the other side know he's still in control. and just like the kov-ward rematch, canelo will win easily and all the controversy will be deaded for good. canelo will be more comfortable, his hands got time to heal properly, his body will be more adjusted to the weight, and i'm sure they'll make adjustments to their camp. the whole fight will look just like the first 3 rounds last night. with canelo giving little g a boxing lesson. once again, little g's only hope will be that canelo's stamina fails him. which is the only time he was able to compete with canelo on an equal level.:yeshrug:......little g proved to be a warrior, but it's obvious his skill set is nowhere near canelo's.

Fight needs a rematch asap.

GGG vs Cotto in December, easier fight & bigger payday for GGG...plus a chance to get more casuals to join the bandwagon, then GGG vs Canelo 2 in May from T-Mobile Arena
I didn't like the Canelo or GGG fight for Cotto. Not as a retiremental fight. Deserves to go out with a more winnable fight and not risk so much punishment (and at 154, he is way small at 160). But he is a warrior, like Hopkins, and may keep it 100 until the end.

Edit: Damn the Garcia's are really serious about Mikey fighting Cotto. :patrice:

Golovkin's Promoter: We'd Come Back to Vegas for Canelo Rematch

By Keith Idec

LAS VEGAS – The controversial scoring of his first fight in Las Vegas won’t prevent Gennady Golovkin from returning here for a rematch with Canelo Alvarez.

Tom Loeffler, managing director for K2 Promotions, said Team Golovkin wouldn’t rule out another fight against Alvarez in the “Boxing Capital of the World” just because he had to settle for a 12-round draw with Mexico’s Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. Kazakhstan’s Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) expressed his displeasure with Adalaide Byrd’s 118-110 score for Alvarez, and the unbeaten middleweight champion and his handlers think this controversy is about Byrd, not Las Vegas.

When Loeffler was asked whether he would request that their rematch take place at Madison Square Garden in New York, he said they’re open to fighting Alvarez anywhere.

“You know, that really depends,” Loeffler said during the post-fight press conference. “This was Gennady’s first time fighting in Las Vegas. I don’t think it’s the location so much as the judges. We think [referee] Kenny Bayless did a terrific job, a fine job between two combatants who were throwing big punches. And I think Kenny broke them correctly at the right times – he didn’t let either fighter hold. And he kept the action flowing, so we have to give him a lot of credit.”

Madison Square Garden executives and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones were among the bidders for the first Alvarez-Golovkin fight, but representatives for MGM Resorts International, a co-owner of T-Mobile Arena, made sure this fight came to Las Vegas. Like their first fight, having Alvarez accept their rematch is more important to Golovkin and his team than where the fight takes place.

The 27-year-old Alvarez won’t fight again until May, though, and isn’t contractually obligated to a rematch against Golovkin.

“Gennady’s fought six times at Madison Square Garden,” Loeffler said. “He always feels very comfortable there. When we made this fight, when I was negotiating with Oscar, and I told him, ‘It doesn’t matter where the fight is. Just get me the ring and just get me Canelo, and we’ll take the fight. So I’m sure it’ll be the same attitude he’ll have for the rematch, and we’ll just have to maybe check the judges a little bit closer, just depending on where the fight is.”

Idk breh... after Satirday I have serious doubts that Canelo will ever gets his stamina improved. If he can, he can win, yes, but can he...? If he couldn't improve his stamina even for this fight idk what to expect...

And it seems like it's important cause Golovkin seemingly can't be knocked out by anything so you probably have to beat him on point through 12X3 minutes while he tries to pressure you.

Canelo should try with a strategy change, standing in the pocket more with Golovkin and not moving that much cause he moved very well in the first few rounds but it also doned his stamina...

That's my thing. If GGG can mount an effective body attack plan he'll be money. His jab can't miss though. He ain't fast but the timing and accuracy is elite. CAnelo got a great chin on him but he fights half rounds. His brother Ramon seems to have a stamina problem as well. Not sure but I wanted to ask @Yuzo in the other thread because he points out that it seems canelo uses a ton of energy to throw punches at times.

Canelo has had gas problems since like forever, lol and it's never going to change.

Then you get cases like hughie fury
Hughie Fury - Wikipedia
"Peter Fury has revealed Hughie is operating only 'at 30%' due to a skin condition causing fatigue. The British Boxing Board of Control ordered Fury to face Dillian Whyte for the British title. Fury had been fighting these health issues since January 2015.[20][21] After a few months of treatment, Peter stated he was keen to get Hughie in the ring with IBF champion Anthony Joshua by November 2016.[22] In January 2017, Fury spoke about the acne and health issues he had over the years and how he battled to overcome them.

"I went to a skin specialist and he said: 'I can't believe you have been fighting in this condition'. He took blood tests. He told me the bad infected blood basically poisons the insides, affects your immune system and you are always fatigued. The type of acne I had, in the olden days they used to bring them in and put them in hospital beds. That's how bad it was."

this was the worst his stamina has ever looked though. and it happened only after 3 rounds of a moderately paced fight. he only threw about 40 punches per round which is right around his average. up to that point it looked like a typical canelo fight. then his energy was just gone completely....it made no sense. that tells me this was possibly a case of overtraining which there were rumors about heading in. I don't expect him to ever have great stamina, but I think anybody can have good stamina. it's just a matter of training properly. delahoya said they hired a new S&C coach for this fight, so maybe it was just a bad fit. at this point, they need to hire a guy who's proven in the sport. somebody like alex ariza who knows how to train fighters specifically. or holler at ward's team for some help. if you wanna be the best in the sport, having great conditioning is a must. if you've had stamina problems for years, then you have to make a change to your routine. but canelo has always had a closed off team. he's kept it the same since he first started boxing as a kid. but if his team really wanna see him reach his max potential they gotta get him some real help in that department. there's just no reason for a 27 year old fighter in his prime to be exhausted after 3 rounds of average paced action. the shyt is a joke. usually fighters lose their energy gradually, but canelo completely hit a wall after the 3rd round. the shyt was insane.
