I doN't get what was the problem with that fightthe fight shouldn't be happening..rocky needs some tuneups
I doN't get what was the problem with that fight
especially at short notice
HE gave Salido all he could handle and then got KOd by a guy who's ranked on P4P lists and then he all that sudden becomes a shyt tier opponent for Davis?
Fortuna, Fonseca, Ogawa... are the highest ranked available oneshes not a shyt tier opponent..but he's not the opponent tank should be facing...rocky went to war with salido twice.he absorbed a crazy amount of punishment which led to what happened in the lomachenko fight..rocky needs some tuneups to see where he's at..meanwhile im sure theres plenty of better opponents in the ibf 130 ratings he can fight

Carson Jones: Golovkin's Tips Will Help Me Beat Margarito
By Ryan Burton
On September 2nd, former world champion Antonio Margarito will have this third fight after a four year hiatus from the sport. In his way is welterweight veteran Carson Jones (40-11-3) who has won five of his past six fights.
Margarito represents a big opportunity for Jones, who lost a close majority decision to former champion Kell Brook in 2012. He hopes that a win over a well known fighter like Margarito leads to a bigger fight in the near future.
"Antonio Margarito still has that big name so hopefully it will be an even bigger and a more meaningful fight and possibly a world title eliminator. Hopefully it keeps me on track to getting a world title fight," Jones explained.
The fight against Margarito is contracted at the 154 super welterweight limit and will take place in Chihuahua, Mexico. Jones is a natural welterweight but said that at this stage in his career he is just looking for the biggest fights possible.
"At this point I am just trying to take the opportunities as they come. Obviously I prefer 147, that is my ideal weight class. That is the weight class that I have had the most success at but at this point I have to kind of take what comes at me. I don't mind fighting at 154 like this fight and my last fight was at this weight too. If it is a good opportunity I kind of have no choice but to take it," said Jones.
The 30-year-old Oklahoma native is trained by world class trainer Abel Sanchez who is best known for training Gennady "GGG" Golovkin and for having trained International Boxing Hall of Fame member Terry Norris.
Jones said that Golovkin is very knowledgeable and likes to help out all of the fighters in the gym. He also revealed that Triple G gave him some specific advice for the Margarito fight.
"He is always giving me pointers but the past few days he has given me a lot of tips and pointers that we are going to keep between ourselves but he is always guiding me in the right direction so to speak," Jones told BoxingScene.com.
"It is just little stuff that he says. Certain things that I need to work on. Margarito's style isn't rocket science. It is straightforward, typical Mexican style. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. He just looks at what I am doing in certain workouts and routines and he tells me what I need to do more of and gives me tips. I am listening to everything he says and I believe I will come out victorious on September 2nd."
