No, he wasnt an A opponent. How? Because he beat an unproven Perez for a vacant belt?:dwillhuh:

He'd done nothing at 135, still hasnt done anything at 135 to this day, and was too small with chin & stamina issues.

Get rocked by a smaller fighter always has a bearing on if you eventually face the biggest, strongest opponent in a division 2 divisions higher...especially when that opponent is in his prime and just broke a man who is much bigger/stronger than Crawford as well.

Gamboa in his prime was 100% A talent. Boxers get hit..it happens...

Being competitive =/= winning though.

I agree he could compete...but he doesnt beat Spence and Im very iffy on him beating Thurman too.

Id like to see him beat Porter or Swift before I put him in the convo of either of those 2 guys (Spence & Thurman)

I get it and agree. BUT...I am no Bud Stan...I long ago said the Diaz and Molina's of the world are well past their expiration date and fights like those are unacceptable at this stage.

He needs
Khan
Spence
Danny
Broner
Mikey Garcia
Porter
Thurman
Porter
Manny

PERIOD

Gamboa's resume at 135, or even a Gamboa fight at 135 which showed he's an A fighter at that weight please?:mjpls:

The jump from Junior Welterweight to Welterweight is the tied for the 3rd biggest jump in Boxing along with "JMW to MW" & "SMW to LHW".

Beating up smaller B & C fighters doesnt put you on the same pedestal as beating up larger A fighters at 147.

Get up to 147, put in some work, and then lets talk. Until then, its all 140 hype until its proven at 147...as it has always been for decades.
I said first I have to see him in 147 I just think the constant talks about the Gmaboa fight are basura and pretty much irrelevant and I never gave a fukk about that GRJ story either it's not even something I feel to react to cause I never gave much on these word on the streets, he said she said sparring, street fight, etc... rumors.
When I picked Spence against Brook I also didn't do that because "he KO Broner in sparring" or "he gave May a black eye" I just generally do't give much significance to these and I think these.

Getting rocked by a smaller fighter is no shame, you can be rocked by anyone if you don't see the punch...

Also I understand if you are skeptic about the level of his opponents (not that he could fight better guys but I get it) but let's make this clear, by YOUR eye test, if you're looking at Crawford fighting you don't see a exceptional fighter of his era? Jut by your eye test breh

And Im just saying, I want him to beat a good 147lber, before I say he beats the best ones (Spence/Thurman):hubie:

Danny Garcia already showed us how easy 140 was, was an undefeated WBA/WBC/RING/Lineal Champion, and beat the best opponent at 140....then he lost to Thurman at 147....so forgive me for not buying the "Crawford can beat Spence" hype from the #WeedHeads when his 140 resume is stuffed with B & C 140 fighters while Spence is a huge, powerful, skilled, "A-Class" 147lber.:manny:

I think it's very possible that when it's all said and done all three of Crawford, Spence and Thurman will be seen as some of the best fighters of their generation

Will Spence vs Crawford happen? Idk... not sure at all

First because Arum is too stubbor and proud, even though they buried the hatchet with Haymon he still very much prefers i house matchups and I can easily look into Arum that after he make Crawford vs Pac he puts Crawford on the Jessie Vargas diet instead of trying to make fights with Haymon

Secondly: partly because the first point, I'm not sure whether if Spence will be even at welterweight when a possible fight could materialize between the two. I feel like Spence gonna move up but don't know when and for Crawford 147 is probably his ceiling.

He seems to be an exceptional Junior Welterweight...yes, he is.

However, yall saying he beats exceptional Welterweights when he hasn't even been in the ring with exceptional fighter in the lower weights period yet:hubie:

I don't say he does, I said hypothetically if he transfer his power up to 147 he has a chance. That's an important difference. First I gotta see him in 147 but yes I feel he can be successful in 147. No proof or anything so that's just my opinion.
If he would take on someone like Peterson or Swift I could gauge better his chances against Spence (or Thurman).

The J.O.B. Squad made for entertaining television as well in the late 90s for the WWE:obama:

Id love for Spence to get in there and finish off the remnants of Matthysse's career....Lucas with GBP may not be an option though:yeshrug:

That's all Im saying.

Crawford is great at 140, but until he faces a legit WW, Im not sold on him beating the A fighters there yet:hubie:
