No 154 then? :francis:

I don't know... these are 2 very much Europe centered divisions, didn't they say they want about 7 fights in the USA and 7 in other parts of the world? How they gonna sell any of these divisions in the USA? Only remarkable American names in any of these two are the two Dirrells but that's about it. Maybe Gilberto Ramirez and David Benavidez if we count them as Mexicans.
I guess it will be good though, looking forward to it just hoped for 154

Demetrius Hopkins Clips Bernard, No Witter? - Boxing News
Demetrius Hopkins Clips Bernard, No Witter?

By Mark Vester

It was reported earlier today that 2007 mananger of the year, Cameron Dunkin, signed undefeated Demetrius Hopkins (28-0-1, 11KOs), who is scheduled to challenge WBC junior welterweight champion Junior Witter on March 22. It has now come out that Hopkins never agreed to the fight or even received an offer, and his contract with Golden Boy Promotions ran out on January 6, which made him a free agent during the negotiations.

Speaking with boxing scribe Dan Rafael, Demetrius says that nobody from Golden Boy Promotions has even been in contact with him for the last five weeks or sent him a proposal for the fight with Witter. Hopkins is willing to move forward with the Witter fight, but only for the right offer. If Witter falls through, other opponents like WBO champion Ricardo Torres may come into play.

"For one, I was a free agent and negotiating a [promotional] contract and I've been waiting almost five weeks for the proposal," Hopkins said. "My contract expired Jan. 6. I had no extension, no signing bonus, no nothing. I haven't heard from no one from Golden Boy."

Golden Boy's COO, David Itskowitch, tells Rafael that miscommunication is to blame. In light of the issues with Golden Boy, Demetrius appears to be at odds with his uncle, Bernard Hopkins, who is partner within Golden Boy Promotions. Demetrius Hopkins told Rafael that his relationship with Bernard has gotten really bad over the last few months and shades of Floyd Mayweather Sr. vs. Floyd Jr. is written all over the family situation.

Demetrius Hopkins claims that Bernard threw him, his 6-year-old son and his fiancée out of an apartment they rented from him in Philadelphia. He claims the reason was simply being two-weeks behind in rent and the late payment was caused by a switch in banks.

"The man kicked me out of his apartment," Demetrius Hopkins said. "He kicked me, my son and my fiancée out [in November]. He didn't show me any loyalty so why would I show him any? Yeah, I was two weeks late. I was switching bank accounts. He could have told me to pay a late fee. It's not like I didn't have the money. It's not even that he kicked me out. But when you kick my son out, then you got a problem with me. If you don't care about my son, you don't care about me.

"I don't want to do business with my uncle. It's the same thing with us as what goes on between Floyd [Mayweather Jr.] and Floyd Mayweather Sr., and [Bernard] isn't even my father."

Kicked the man out of his apartment before Christmas, because he was late on rent.

Roach: Pacquiao Will Have a Tune-up, Then I'd Love Mikey Garcia

By Radio Rahim

Freddie Roach, head trainer of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (59-6-2, 38 KOs), views 2012 Australian Olympian Jeff Horn (16-0-1, 11 KOs) as the perfect stay-busy fight.

The fight will take place on July 2nd [July 1 in the United States] from the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia. A massive crowd is expected for the event and some New Zealand outlets have reported that thousands of tickets have already been scooped up.

Horn is viewed as a huge underdog in the fight. His best wins are against faded former world champions Randall Bailey and Ali Funeka.

Pacquiao was back in the ring last November, when he dropped and dominated Jessie Vargas over twelve rounds to recapture the WBO crown.

If everything goes well with Horn, Roach would love to see Pacquiao get in the ring with three division world champion Mikey Garcia (36-0, 30 KOs), who currently holds the WBC lightweight title.

Roach told BoxingScene that he recently spoke with Robert Garcia, brother and trainer of Mikey, about the possibility of making the fight with Pacquiao in the fall.

"[Horn is] a good fight to see where he's at and who's gonna be next. The thing is, it's kind of a tune-up fight for us and who he has next... Mikey Garcia's brother came to me the other day and said to me 'will you fight my brother?' I said 'sure.' I love that fight. I don't make the final decisions, but it's a possible future fight. That's what we're looking for right now, a tune-up fight and then on to bigger and better things," Roach said to BoxingScene.com.

With Pacquiao fighting at 147 and Garcia competing at 135-pounds, at what weight would would this collision take place?

"We'll fight from 140 to 147. It doesn't matter. We can make 140 pretty easy, but there are a lot of catch-weights in there, it's part of boxing these days. I know a lot of people don't like them. I'll do anything to stick up for my fighter. We'll negotiate a fair weight for who the opponent is,' Roach said.
