Breh Tyson Fury held 3/4 of the heavyweight belts, think about that for a second. And he was kinda slick too :mindblown: dude was legit fat while boxing, he just XXL now
See this is the shyt I mean but Fury took that to the extreme. :hhh:
Shows up in a batsuit :hhh:
Shows his gut on the lead up to the second fight :hhh:

He even punched himself at one point in his career and I didn't even know that was possible

But he ended up styling on klitschko

Former IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin (24-1-1, 22 KOs) quietly returned to the ring with a second round TKO over journeyman Byron Polley (30-21-1, 13 KOs) on Tuesday night at the Fitz Tunica Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi. It was Martin’s first fight since losing the title to Anthony Joshua 12 months ago.

Erislandy Lara Says Demetrius Andrade Priced Himself Out

:sas2:

:duck: First he wasn't interested he wanted Hurd, then Hurd told him to kick rocks (and Hurd says he wants Mell Charlo),now it's DA priced himself.

He has a June date and his opponents will not be Charlo or Hurd, looks like he's got another can on his mind. For a guy who went to Germany for culcay I'd doubt DA is really asking for too much.

Was on my way to work & this came on in my ear buds:

#Truth Seekers

If Spence brings that belt back & has a unification bout with Thurman he needs to walk out to that. The hook:

"Ayo it's hell on earth, whose next or gonna be first
The projects is front lines, and the enemy is One Time
I ain't gotta tell you
It's right in front of your eyes
We wreck the QBC, nikka rep yours it's all love."

You should tweet this to him @Newzz :lolbron:

Prodigys 2nd verse on that song is in my top 10 ever fam-o

@Newzz my brother, Lara is correct. Andrade pricing himself out. Even his team told him he's asking for too much money. Andrade doesn't want the fight now, which is okay. I don't think he's ducking anyone honestly. However, just be real and say you don't want the fight now. Why lie and saying you want the fight ?

Personnally, I want Andrade to get more fights under his belt. Look at what happened to J Rock and Hatley. Seriously, these guys need to build themselves up and get a proper fan base. We don't need this fight now. Booboo is not a draw at all and it'd be better for boxing to have this as a big fight.

Look at Spence and Brook now. Would it make so much money 3 years ago ? Look at AJ and Klitschko.

Yall know why Andrade is discussing this now?

Because I interjected into the convo from a week ago, like I told yall I was gonna do yesterday, and made the person from Team Lara start speaking again. According to them, Andrade's being offered "more than his last fight".....which is cool on the surface, until you remember Andrade's team LOST the purse bid and Andrade only made around $100k-$110k to face Culcay.

Like I told that dude, if we don't know how much is being offered...and you're only saying more than his last fight...who's to say you guys arent sending a lowball offer, in the hopes Andrade doesn't accept it, and then will run with the whole "Lara offered the fight, Andrade refused" tactic

So breh, if you know how much Andrade is turning DOWN, then I could understand, but "more than his last fight" and saying 300k is A-Side money, leads me to believe they are offering him :trash: $$$ in order to run with the fact Andrade turned it down.

Remember, Andrade was offered $550k to face Charlo, so less than 300k is kind of insulting for a Championship fight vs Lara matching up 2 of the top 5 JMWs today:manny:

Lara vs Andrade will never be a "big fight" imo. It's a hardcore fan's matchup where it will be skill vs skill. The casuals need not apply for this fight, bc they will hate it:heh:

Very good points but just like Jacobs bit the bullet to fight GGG, Andrade should do the same. How much money he's being offered ? :whoa:
That's for Team Lara to say but I can guarantee its more than enough to face Lara

Wow #ATeam putting in that work one tweet at a time. @Newzz
:salute:

To add what you've already said DA is an undefeated champ who lost his belt due to some questionable decision making, he's not a prospect or working into contention.

Sure he should knock the ring rust off, but if Charles Hatley (WBC), Julian Williams (IBF), Tony Harrison (IBF), Jarrett Hurd (IBF), Yuri Foreman (WBA), Liam Smith (WBO) can all get a shot at the champion let's get it on now. Nobody telling any of these nikkas to build their fan base or hesitating to sign up. When you can't get a fight any shot at a title is necessary. He's in his prime right now.

Remember when people said boxing was dead?

The truth is, boxing is showing plenty of life. Even the biggest star in mixed martial arts can't wait to get a piece of it.

Conor McGregor has no chance against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Not in a boxing ring, though in an octagon, it would likely be a different story.

Still, the riches are far greater than McGregor can make in the UFC. And UFC chieftain Dana White says he won't stand in the way of McGregor making money. He believes the fight will happen.

Yes, Mayweather-McGregor is more a freak show than a fight, but there's still plenty for boxing fans to get excited about. They don't have to wait long for Saturday's fight between Joshua and Klitschko, which will be televised by both Showtime and HBO.

"Obviously, the jewel of the crown is the big heavyweight fight," said Stephen Espinoza, executive vice president for Showtime Sports. "It sort of feels like a throwback to the golden eras of boxing when you had big worldwide heavyweight title fights and everyone knew who the champion was."

BoxingCanelo Alvarez media workout
The fight matches Klitschko, who dominated the heavyweight division for the better part of a decade, against Joshua, who has won all 17 of his fights by knockout. It will either mark Klitschko's renaissance after an embarrassing loss to Tyson Fury in 2015 or serve as the passing of the torch to a young and vibrant new champion.

@Newsday
Either way it figures to rekindle interest in a division that has had little to captivate fans in recent years.

"It's gotten more exciting since I left the top," Klitschko said. "It's not as boring as it was with me during all these years. You can like me or hate me, but when one person conquers all it is boring. I totally get it."

In boxing-mad England, the fight is such a huge deal that all 90,000 tickets sold out quickly. Joshua owns the titles that will be at stake, and American heavyweight Deontay Wilder, who owns the WBC version of the title, will be ringside hoping to meet the winner.

Just as big for Mexican boxing fans will be the middleweight fight a week later in Las Vegas between the red-haired Alvarez, an established star, and Chavez Jr., a son of the legendary former champion.

BoxingWladimir Klitschko's open workout
If Alvarez wins as oddsmakers expect him to, it could set up an even bigger fight in the fall against Golovkin, the power puncher from Kazakhstan who now lives in Los Angeles. Golovkin sold out Madison Square Garden last month for his narrow win over Jacobs, showing some vulnerability that may help lure what has so far been a reluctant Alvarez into the ring against him.

Espinoza believes that both promoters and fighters have realized that in a competitive market for live events, boxing has had to move to provide better matchups if fans are to pay attention.

And he says that is precisely what is starting to happen.

"Without a doubt boxing is surging," he said. "We see that in our ratings and in our digital traffic. What has become clear to those in the boxing industry is that in order to attract attention you've got to have signature, high-profile events."

That includes Joshua and Klitschko and, yes, it probably includes Mayweather-McGregor. Eventually it could include a stable of Olympic fighters signed by Bob Arum and others who may turn into big stars.

BoxingGennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs
The matchups are intriguing, and the response from boxing fans has been huge.

Something to think about the next time you hear that boxing is dead.
