I'm pretty sure Conor McGregor doesn't know who Rigo is...so what kind of reverse psychology/reverse call-out shyt is this Rigo? :dahell:

^^^ I cant believe I got this post out....I barely remember writing this. I thought I was dreaming:wow:

Brehs, I was definitely faded last night...and definitely feeling it right now. This headache is for the birds:mjcry:

@Black_Jesus I wanna know your take on this brehbrowski, I know you prolly disagree

Brehs..... something's been bothering me about Manny Pacquiao's claim of being an 8 division world champion. I understand that it's in the guinness world record book and that it's generally viewed as a factual statement. Ok, well I'm gonna need some clarification on some things, if ya will...

Let's break this thing on down.
1998- WBC World Flyweight Championship (1)
2001- IBF World Super Bantamweight Championship (2)
2003- Ring & Lineal Featherweight Championship (3)*
Apparently, Barrera refused the title so it became immediately vacant. Morales, feeling cheated in the rematch, picked the title right back up against Paulie Ayala in his next bout.
2008- WBC World Super Featherweight Championship (4)
2008- WBC World Lightweight Championship (5)
2009- IBO World Super Lightweight Championship, The Ring & Lineal Super Lightweight Championship (6)*
2009- WBO World Welterweight Championship (7)
2010- WBC World Super Welterweight Championship (8)

So my questions are...
  1. Did The Ring become a sanctioning body?
  2. If not, does a magazine publication without sanctioning duties deserve to have their "title" recognized for anything else other than novelty?
  3. The "Lineal" champion thing, is there an actual belt for this or, what?
  4. When the Ring champion is 1 person, and the Lineal champion is another person..... then, are they both "world champions"?
  5. The IBO... are they recognized by the other 4 major sanctioning bodies or no?
  6. Is an IBO champion considered a "world champion"?

Now, let me remind you, this takes NOTHING away from Manny's legacy as a fighter nor his place as a 1st ballot hall of famer. However, I'm a bit bothered by these anomolies in his "world record".

This ain't hate, it's debate, so serious responses only por favor...

  1. Nope
  2. No...especially since people wanna disregard their divisional rankings when convenient, but then double back & tout their fighter as a "RING Champion". Cant have it both ways. Either their rankings AND Belt count, or they don't. You cant pick 1 and not the other. RING is the longest running Boxing magazine, but it's also owned by Golden Boy Promotions. Would we think the AP's rankings matter for college football, if it was ran by the University of Alabama? I'll just leave that question there...
  3. Nope
  4. Yes. However, RING Magazine's Lineal Championship is only their's.....different sites (boxrec, boxingscene, tbrb, cyber boxing zone) keep their own Lineal Champion and history because they think RING's is false.
  5. Nope.
  6. Nope.

goddamn Gamboa really deserved more props and fights for his effort vs. Crawford.

Crawford really was on rollerskates in the 9th.

yeah, that's what got casuals into craw.(unlike the masterclass over postol...lol) imo he took 3 steps back then held and then koed him......like pat said he could have been draining himself to make that weight which makes u weak. still a bad look overall but ive yet to see him get get shook by anyone else. so we'll see.

gamboa really wasn't a bum at all.....dude was way faster than craw and just as good of boxer. I believe its why people believe he can adapt to pacman speed and start outboxing him.(even though they not extactly the same) only real question people have is will his chin hold up vs pac and the better punchers at 147.

True.

If Crawford really has a strong chin, he may never lose.

notice certain boxers always get the duck tag automatically,no matter how much they have proven.:sas2:

Tried to tell u nikkas Ward was about to do a massive duck; wouldn't surprise me if he retires ala Lennox Lewis for only a year or two though
