Ward just said what my biggest problem of the whole fight was...and it wasn't the judging. Kovalev was talking before the fight about how Ward is a dirty fighter and he wasn't going to let Ward fight dirty. During the fight there was holding and I felt it was pretty equal on who was holding. That surprised me, I thought Ward would look to tie up on the inside to frustrate Kovalev, but Kovalev held a lot to stop Ward's inside work. Overall there was less holding in the entire fight than I thought there would be.
But...the biggest problem was that Kovalev after the fight complained about Ward holding and being dirty. I don't care that Kovalev thinks he won and is stirring up the media. It was a close fight and he accounted well for himself. He earned the right to complain that he won. But he never did one thing to dissuade Ward from being "dirty", which Ward was never dirty, where beforehand he said that he would break Ward's wrists and hurt him if he fought dirty.
I'll buy virtually every other argument...excuse...but not that one.
@Black_Jesus I wanna know your take on this brehbrowski, I know you prolly disagree
Brehs..... something's been bothering me about Manny Pacquiao's claim of being an 8 division world champion. I understand that it's in the guinness world record book and that it's generally viewed as a factual statement. Ok, well I'm gonna need some clarification on some things, if ya will...
Let's break this thing on down.
1998- WBC World Flyweight Championship (1)
2001- IBF World Super Bantamweight Championship (2)
2003- Ring & Lineal Featherweight Championship (3)*
Apparently, Barrera refused the title so it became immediately vacant. Morales, feeling cheated in the rematch, picked the title right back up against Paulie Ayala in his next bout.
2008- WBC World Super Featherweight Championship (4)
2008- WBC World Lightweight Championship (5)
2009- IBO World Super Lightweight Championship, The Ring & Lineal Super Lightweight Championship (6)*
2009- WBO World Welterweight Championship (7)
2010- WBC World Super Welterweight Championship (8)
So my questions are...
Did The Ring become a sanctioning body?
If not, does a magazine publication without sanctioning duties deserve to have their "title" recognized for anything else other than novelty?
The "Lineal" champion thing, is there an actual belt for this or, what?
When the Ring champion is 1 person, and the Lineal champion is another person..... then, are they both "world champions"?
The IBO... are they recognized by the other 4 major sanctioning bodies or no?
Is an IBO champion considered a "world champion"?
Now, let me remind you, this takes NOTHING away from Manny's legacy as a fighter nor his place as a 1st ballot hall of famer. However, I'm a bit bothered by these anomolies in his "world record".
This ain't hate, it's debate, so serious responses only por favor...

The RING has to count whether its a sanctioning body or not.. aquiring the RING belt means you beat the best/highest ranked in that division PERIOD.. In Manny's case Barerra - #1 at feather(should've got the WBC but Barerra dropped it).. Hatton - #1 at Junior Welter...
Lara vs Yuri Foreman at the top of next year I didn't even know Foreman still boxed, haven't seen him since Arthur Mercante told him to walk off a torn ACL
