Salido's Adviser Explodes, Tears Apart 'Sh*tty Style' Lomachenko
By Steve Kim
The verbal sparring between the representatives of WBO junior lightweight titlist Vasyl Lomachenko and top rated Orlando Salido continues.
After Egis Klimas, the manager of Lomachenko, shot down Salido's financial demands in an earlier interview on BoxingScene.com, Salido's adviser Sean Gibbons wanted the opportunity to respond.
"If Salido would have right now the WBC title and Lomachenko have WBO, that means something," said Klimas. "He can ask for even more money than Lomachenko but right now he's not in the situation where to tell Lomachenko to 'give me more money and I will fight you.' F*** you. There are plenty of guys to fight before a Salido."
Gibbons reacted to Klimas' statements, and then some.
"Last time I checked, first of all, we never called for Lomachenko - they called looking for us," Gibbons stated to BoxingScene.com. "Second of all, we have the fighter people want to see. They don't want to see your sh*tty half-running Ukrainian style you call the greatest boxing of all-time, yeah, against a bunch of stiffs."
So now the focus for Salido - coming off his draw against WBC 130-pound belt-holder Franciso Vargas on June 4th - shifts.
"So here's what we're going to do, we're going to make another fight for November, December, that the fans want to see. The belt doesn't define Salido - Salido defines the belt, even though he has no problems fighting for them. I've been thinking about it: what would the people want to see and what would be best for HBO? And that is a 'fight of the year' with Orlando Salido and Takashi Miura. Its a no-brainer. Vargas is not ready to fight till next year. What's the next big thing? Miura," stated Gibbons.
Last November, Miura was stopped in dramatic fashion by Vargas on the Saul Alvarez-Miguel Cotto undercard in what was voted he 2015 'fight of the year'.
"All three of those guys together put on some of the greatest TV and the two 'fight of the year's in the last two years. So our focus right now - and it's legitimate - we never asked to make the Lomachenko fight. They called us. Don't bytch and moan that you can't make something that you don't want to pay for. That's your problem. You're either shopping at WalMart or you shop at Neiman-Marcus. You want to shop at WalMart go get Jezreel Corrales, Jose Pedraza, get sh*tty fights like (Jason)Sosa - that's Walmart,"said Gibbons, who's obviously a high-end shopper.
"You want to shop where the big boys shop, you come and get Salido. You want to keep shopping at WalMart, keep shopping at WalMart. Go get Corrales, Pedraza, Sosa. We shop at Neiman-Marcus - we shop at the big boy store. This isn't bargain hunting at K-Mart. Last I checked we beat you, we had four 'fight of the year's and what the f*** have you done? Nothing. Take your gold medals, that's amateur boxing. This is professionals, chief."
And Gibbons believes that HBO needs to service its subscribers in the wake of this past weekend - "Salido-Miurua is cant-miss boxing. After watching that debacle where they paid $300,000 to get Alexander Brand on TV, they ran what subscribers they had and almost got rid of all of them that night. So lets bring the fans back to boxing."
the only thing in the article i didnt fukk with was the badmouthing of corrales, pedraza, and sosa..shyt corrales is the man at 130..everything else i cant really disagree with..salido is better than lomachenko
Never thought I'd say this, but I'm good with Floyd being retired.
Maybe its all the young guys and potential unifications of 2017.
I'll try to dig the video of Kovalev after the Ward fight. Reporter asks him basically after seeing Ward yadayada whats going through your head right now?
Kov: "...........Nothing."
it has to be the language barrier but got damn this dude is dry.
edit:
6th highest card on HBO this year, going head up against the Olympics (who had an average of 21 million viewers on NBC from 10pm -11pm...Ward's fight started at 10:35pm) vs an unknown opponent with 0 fanbase while Kovalev vs Chilemba did almost 400k less viewers on a Monday going head up against Love & Hip-Hop ATL & WWE Raw
#SOGGang is much stronger than yall realize

I liked Floyd being in the game & being able to see him fight twice a year...I just hated his fans.
There's nothing like watching GOAT level Boxers, still on top of their game, perform imo
one thing about floyd being gone from boxing is it gets rid of the clowns who think boxing begins and ends with him but couldn't name 10 other active black fighters if their lives depended on it..it will be interested to see on here what happens when a new black fighter that captures casual attention rises to the top of things....if they are going to front they were day 1s or act wishy washy like they do with adrien broner lol
