Soooooo Salido is bytching about the $$$ for a Loma rematch
His team says they were offered less then "bum Martinez"
Very interesting how not a god damn soul is telling Salido "jus take the money" or "he's ducking"
Spoonface retweeting Team Salido N replying "Orale" instead tho
Bet anything if it was Trex arms Spoonface would be singing a different tune tho
with all the great fights Salido has given us over the years, he's one dude that I wouldn't want to see short changed. Plus he got the 1st win over Loma. Why would he play himself and take less money. He coming off of 3 straight FOTY contenders (if we counting 2015)
with that said, you right.
Let a PBC nikka want some more money and that shyt will spiral into 20 different articles and shyt.
Joe Smith Jr. is in talks with Jean Pascal for a possible fall fight
Joe Smith Jr. is in preliminary talks to face former titleholder Jean Pascal in a possible fall clash, Smith’s promoter Joe DeGuardia told RingTV.com.
DeGuardia rejected the idea that Smith would face former Olympic bronze medalist Oleksandr Gvozdyk in a WBC world title eliminator, saying the WBC had not yet formally mandated the match. Smith is currently rated No. 2 in the WBC’s light heavyweight ratings while the Ukrainian Gvozdyk is No. 6
Rather, DeGuardia said he’s working on a possible fight with Pascal for Smith if a bout with WBC light heavyweight titleholder Adonis Stevenson can’t be made. DeGuardia also mentioned Yunieski Gonzalez, another fighter he promotes who lost to Pascal in 2015, and even fellow Long Islander Seanie Monaghan, as possible back-up options.
Smith (22-1, 18 knockouts) is a hot commodity after his shocking first-round knockout of heavily favored Andrezej Fonfara in June. Stevenson (28-1, 23 KOs) is coming off a fun fourth-round stoppage of Thomas Williams Jr. last Friday. Pascal, 33, was thrashed in seven rounds by unified champion Sergey Kovalev in January.
“Right now we’re waiting to see a couple options and we’re trying to figure out the best scenario for him,” DeGardia said in a phone interview. “He had a spectacular win and certainly we’re looking for the biggest fights out there. Right now I’d love to see Joe fight Adonis Stevenson so if they’re going to order something that’s what I would hope they would order.”
Yea I got no problem with Salido wanting to get paid
Same way I got no issues with any of these other boxers wanting to get paid what they worth
Especially when its not some off the wall number like Walters etc...
idk why Arum and HBO don't trust him enough. He looked like a legit talent with immense power for featherweight-superfeather with a entertaining style... still pretty young, has upside, can move up in the future because he's quite big even in 130.Yup and Walters aint even ask for some crazy figures. He said he would have settled for 750k, which I thought was reasonable. HBO wasn't even trying to entertain that.
It almost feels like the powers that be decide in advance what fights we're gonna get and we just gotta roll with it.
Miguel With roach would beat Austin imoThe fact Austin Trout gave him that work gives me reason to believe King Pete can do the same
