Mayweather vs Canelo 2 probably does more than Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2
I agree that it will do really well, probably the second largest PPV available. I still think the Mayweather-Pacquiao mystique has more traction, since it has been built in so much with the casual sports fan.

But I will concede I may be underestimating it because my own personal opinion is that it won't play out much different than the first fight, so I am not as interested in seeing Floyd and Canelo again.

The only way I see May/Pac 2 doing great numbers again is if they include the fans into the promotion. I mean US press tour, public weigh ins and press conferences, the whole nine yards. The fans really got cheated out of that shyt the first time around. If them nikkas cared about the sport, they'd make that right. For as garbage as the first fight was for mega fight standards, they need to endear themselves to the public again. I can see 4 mil type sells again if they go that route. Prolly put it in that Dallas stadium.
With that said, the fight still prolly does 2 mil or a lil more if they don't do any of that sentimental shyt I said above :heh:

I think more people wanna see Canelo/Golovkin than Canelo/May 2 though. If Canelo were to beat GGG, then that Floyd rematch is huge. I can see Canelo fighting Lemieux this year as a way to gauge themselves at 160 or say 157 or something. If he looks better than Golovkin did, they'll prolly pull the trigger on that fight in May 2017. :manny:

With the way Floyd was talking last weekend a rematch is the only fight that makes sense. After that payday Floyd wont want something significantly less. There were enough manufactured excuses and just general interest the fight would sell well. Maybe not first fight well, but still the biggest selling fight available in boxing. Pacquiao would be down for the ride. He doesn't have anything remotely near what he could get from this.

Found it a bit :patrice:that Floyd was going to come back for his 50th to fight Garcia or Thurman-Porter winner. Doesn't have that event feel to it. Let alone the finances.

Floyd coming back to face a Garcia makes a lot of sense based on Floyd's history. Floyd doesn't really do rematches unless the first fight was competitive enough to justify one.

You could say that a Pacquaio or a Canelo earns him more money, which is true, but this is the same guy that walked away from a rematch with Oscar. When he walked away from a rematch with Oscar, that showed me that he can't justify giving a rematch after winning clearly despite a large paycheck.

Having said that, he may respect Manny as a future legend/hofer to justify in his mind to give him a rematch.

Floyd still has a sense of pride & if he feels you don't deserve the fight, it's not gonna happen. He could have made money with Khan, but knew Khan didn't deserve it.

I've said this before but DLH is such a fukking Dumbass :mjlol:

Just imagine Lemeuix had he not been fed to GGG...coulda fought Wade :russ: then Tapia on the undercard last night

Muhfukkers would be :ohhh:

Unify this Sept freezing GGG out AND WBC would allow unification over Mando

Canelo still fights Khan, gets to unify, avoids GGG , AND gets adjusted to 160

Or wont do it if he feels like the person could beat him in a rematch :ld:
