Breh, nah it isn't like that. I am not BATB strong like you, but I feel like I am one of the few who is always praising BATB around here. I like his personality and I like watching him fight. I also think he is a really talented fighter. I think he deserves to be #2 at WW until someone proves they can beat him and if he beats Pacquiao he deserves to be #1 at WW. Don't confuse it. I think highly of BATB. My point is that Bradley whooped Vargas' ass for 11 rounds, 2 minutes and 50 seconds and because he got rocked, never went down and Vargas would have had to find a way to run across the ring and KO Tim Bradley in less than 10 seconds is laughable. A Bradley-Vargas fight if they re-run it is interesting, but just because Vargas keeps calling Bradley out, in no way is Bradley lowering his reputation by ignoring Vargas.@GREENandYELLOW you my breh but I'm tempted to neg on sight for BATB slander? Bradley is somehow ducking Vargas(who he fought and beat once already), because vargas wanted to run it back, after getting washed?? Is similar to lil g avoiding Lara, who would be; lil g's biggest fight to date, hardest fight to date, most popular opponent, etc. etc. in what way? You call it lil g hate, but clearly it's just calling a spade a spade. Ya boy is routinely shook by step ups
other than a canelo fight which is most likely happening later this year, lara(whether he really deserves it or not) is his best available option at mw....and he's practically begging for the fight. if its true that there wont be any problems making the fight, then why not? if he goes to 168 for degale, i wont blame him tho since he'll make more money against what would also be his best opponent.Breh, nah it isn't like that. Now to GGG. The hate regarding GGG around here is gaining absurd momentum. The reason I used that example is because people were claiming GGG was ducking Lara if he didn't make that fight. Seriously, people think GGG is ducking Lara? That is just crazy to me. I just don't get the love for Lara and why he is a big "threat". Dude is a solid fighter at 154, but nothing intimidating. Other than Canelo I don't think Lara's opponent list at 154 is that good. He struggled mightily with Angulo, lost to Canelo by straight running the whole fight, and got a win vs. a decent Trout.
I still say what in the fukk has Lara done that makes him a high profile opponent that if GGG doesn't jump on board it is a duck. Remember everything Lara has done is at 154. Whether people like the fighters at 160 or not, nearly every opponent he fights is ranked top 10 in the division by most sources. He signed vs. JCC, he is trying to unify and offered BJS (who just beat Lee, arguably better than any Lara win), and is aggressively chasing Canelo (the man who beat Lara).
It is like people are forgetting GGG has bigger plans than doing a one off fight with an okay Lara. He wants to unify 160, a far bigger accomplishment than beating Lara (who I think gets KO'd) and in doing so would take two fights that I think are better than a fight with Lara (BJS and Canelo). I also find it funny how GGG gets critized for wanting to keep his belt and fulfilling his mandatory (which in that instance he doesn't choose the opponent), yet other fighters are doing it all the time and have potentially better fights out there, but if you want to keep the belt that is part of the putridness involved. Now that is an argument to have, but is the organizing bodies fault, not the fighters and has been going on forever.
In summary, what the fukk has Lara done that makes him a big bad opponent that GGG is scared of, let alone on his radar of things he needs to do? Dude has plans far bigger than KO'ing a Lara, who I think there is heavy doubt he beats several other guys in his own weight division, yet he doesn't seem to make those fights.
Agreed uchi will pick him apartfortuna is gong to get his ass whooped..what happened to the walters fight though? was it the draw that fukked it up

I don't have a problem with people saying GGG should consider it, but Lara is not the end all be all. I just don't think that highly of him. The key thing here is that his mandatory is with the IBF and they actually enforce their rules. I haven't heard anything definitive, but it sounds like unless he got the Canelo fight, he was going to be required to take his IBF mandatory or risk being stripped and that risk is very real - see Tyson Fury. The difference is that Fury said he didn't care about the belt so he did nothing to try and keep it. GGG has stated that the belts and total MW unification is important to him and so far all his moves have indicated as such, so an IBF defense is greater than a fight vs. Lara. The other two belts are with Canelo and BJS and those are the two fights he clearly and vocally has pursued.other than a canelo fight which is most likely happening later this year, lara(whether he really deserves it or not) is his best available option at mw....and he's practically begging for the fight. if its true that there wont be any problems making the fight, then why not? if he goes to 168 for degale, i wont blame him tho since he'll make more money against what would also be his best opponent.
Funny how you say that, and now I'm seeing Cotto was offered a fight against Lara.@patscorpio..I also heard Haymon reached out about making a fight with Cotto, but I wasn't told who it would be with. I think it might be Lara. I asked about Cotto moving down from 154, and I was told 149 would be the lowest he could go, and he couldn't make 147.
Dan is seriously working hard to push the narrative that Swift/Garcia was an attendance flop.Dan Rafael chat wrap 1/29:
- 12k tickets accounted for at the Garcia-Guerrero fight included tons and tons of comped tickets (fan wrote in saying he works for an LA car dealership and PBC people came by and were giving tickets to whoever wanted them).
Its been almost 2 years since JMM last fought. That type of inactivity is not a good look for a guy of his age and career level. Wonder if he would even look like a shadow of the OG JMM in a fight with Cotto.- Cotto vs. JMM is being discussed. Likely take place in the low 150's.
I will never understand why Dan is so against a Lara fight for GGG. Lara is a better name than anyone else GGG has fought in his entire career and is actually a legit skilled fighter. Is he worried that GGG would end up looking bad when faced with lara's boxing skills?- Other than a few vocal minority, no one wants to see a crap Lara-GGG fight.
Be promoted by Don King in 2016, brehs.- No news on who Luis Ortiz will fight next. GB is searching for an opponent. GB would do a fight vs. Stiverne in a second. Don King is asking for outlandish requests to make that fight.
- Don King is not a benefit to any of his fighters at this point.
So this is a good fight but Lara/GGG is not?- Trout vs. Cotto rematch is a good fight, but RN and PBC won't likely be working together.
That would be a good next move for Joshua and keeps him on a staeady progression of increasing the quality of his opponent with every fight.- He is a Joe Calzaghe fan and respects what he accomplished. However, a prime RJJ would destroy - Who would he like to see Anthony Joshua fight next? Chisora.
The hate is still strong with Daniel I see.- The how much money does PBC have left is still a wait and see scenario. To him, the numbers do not bode well.
- PBC has some fighters less active than they would like to be.
- PBC likely won't have NBC or ESPN fights until April.
- PBC's legacy? Right now they have spent a lot of money with little to show for it. It just is sort of there. It hasn't been great or bad for the sport of boxing.
While I am and will always be in support of fighters making as much money as possible, it is only a matter of time before the inflated purses Allah Haymon used to secure the contracts of so many fighters is going to end up biting PBC in the ass. You can't ask dudes who have been paid steady fat checks to start accepting lesser pay days which means PBC is going to have to figure out a way to pay for the marquee match-ups that they are going to need to make in order for the company to be successful and sustainable for the long haul.- The Thurman vs. Porter card is going to be presented as: Showtime Boxing on CBS, presented by PBC. It is a hybrid show, with Showtime announcers, and PBC elements, and whatever the heck that means. PBC's press release was vague and they will not respond to any media requests. Believes that both PBC and Showtime are both contributing money to make an expensive fight.
