That was discussed, but that's no guarantee. Remember, Khan is also in line for a Floyd fight.

I remember Rafael reporting last week that many fighters wouldn't finalize any fights until the Floyd/Manny negotiations finish playing out, because both guys will need opponents if the fight falls through

He's also mentioned having Jhonny Gonzalez fighting a 3 fight series against Haymon's fighters.


The 1st fight is supposed to be Jhonny Gonzalez vs Gary Russell Jr. The winner goes onto face Abner Mares. And the winner of THAT fight faces Leo Santa Cruz. I posted the article on it and that's why Gonzalez vs GRJ is almost finalized.

Whoever emerges with the belt from among Gonzalez, Russell and Mares may wind up facing Santa Cruz late this year, be it on Showtime or on Haymon’s new NBC series that debuts with the Thurman-Guerrero card.
