Watching this Lemieux/Rosado fight again - every time Rosado would man up and take it to Lemieux with some shots, Lemieux would just get him with one fat shot to the face to settle him down...in the 4th and 9th especially.
"Take it to em! You're a Philadelphia boy! I want him outta here!"
Lemieux got some power with both hands and hits hard as shyt up & downstairs.
Lemieux has real power and what I didn't realize is his hands are pretty quick too. The commentating did a good job pointing out that he throws his punches at the same speed and power each time and doesn't mix it up. Maybe he didn't need defense, but he didn't show any vs. Rosado and leaves opportunities if you can engage with him.
Rosado looks done right now. That is why I picked Lemiuex. He looks completely shot. His punches have nothing on them at this point. I think he needs to take some easy fights to recover from the beatings he has taken the last couple of years.
maybe so but its a growing list of things about golovkin that need to be called into question. we had to do it with margarito retroactively and looking back it all made sense why he was doing things like ripping fighters ears off in fights. but if you dont follow things blindly you dont have to look back retroactively. and pacquiao never knocked guys out cold with a arm punch.
What I will say is that people look at the single punch landed vs. Geale and Rubio and think that is the whole story, but it isn't IMO. Both were hard punches. I truly believe that. But look at the other circumstances: Geale had just been knocked down the round prior after he ducked into a right hand landing behind his ear that threw his equilibrium to the bushes. That was the more damaging punch IMO. He never fully regained his balance and caught a solid punch to the face that played with his equilibrium even more. He got right up and didn't appear physically hurt other than his balance was just gone.
And Rubio got caught with again, another solid shot. After getting hit, he gave the "I don't want to get up and take more punches" slow 10 count. It looked like a hurtful punch, but even Rubio didn't look like it was a shot that KO'd him. Rubio afterwards said GGG wasn't the hardest puncher he has faced. So why did he not try to beat the 10 count?..he looked like a dude who wanted a paycheck and once he started taking too much punishment wanted a way out of there.
The two possible upcoming fights are excellent matchups for GGG IMO. Murray is a very good fighter, a tough dude, and a solid opponent. Lemiuex has great power and an exciting style. It would provide for an explosive, entertaining fight.
