Views From The X

Egis Klimas, manager of WBO/IBF/WBA light heavyweight Sergey Kovalev (26-1, 23KOs), says Mexican superstar Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32KOs) is a possible option for them in the future.

Kovalev is already set to face Jean Pascal on March 14th, provided the Canadian boxer wins his stay busy fight on Saturday night.

Beyond Pascal, the pickings are going to be slim at 175 if Kovalev is unable get WBC champion Adonis Stevenson in the ring.

But Klimas says there are other options out there, like Chavez, who the manager views as an HBO Pay-Per-View fight.

Chavez recently signed with manager Al Haymon, who also has Stevenson, and that could be a problem in making a Kovalev encounter.

"Why not [a fight with Chavez Jr]? He even struggled to make even 168 pounds [for Bryan Vera]. For him, it would be good to fight at 175-pounds. And he looks like a light heavyweight. He is tall and big. He punches well. It would be a spectacular night of boxing, so why not?," Klimas said.

hell no he wasnt..guerrero for whatever reason escapes criticism and the tag of being overrated..cuz he deserves both..the kamegai fight was supposed to be a showcase after his lack of fighting spirit against floyd..instead he's dragged into a war and gets busted up again...prolly the worst he's been busted up ever...against a limited hard punching slugger...fight wasn't a good look..dude is a serviceable fighter but a top contender he is not

I can't speak for everyone else, but I can tell you why he escapes it from me. I just do not view him as a welterweight. You put a guy that's not a welterweight against a big strong guy (with inferior skill) & they are gonna look bad. I also don't consider Timothy Bradley a welterweight either. He had a showcase fight against Abregu & he didn't look great at all. He clearly won, but had to work really hard to win the fight.

So because of my perspective, while these guys look like shyt to everyone else in those fights, I look at them as good wins, because I know these guys have no business being @ 147.

So here's the thing. We can only judge these guys by what weight class they fight in, but it's hard for me to ignore that these guys are choosing to fight @ 147 solely for financial reasons. As long as Guerrero continues his career @ 147, he will continue having to grind out these kind of wins. 147 is where the money is, so he's just kind of waiting it out & hoping for another payday to fall into his lap.

broner-taylor was entertaining

berto strug-gul-ling (word to joe Namath) with that cat was not entertaining..it told me that berto will get KO'ed again :lolbron:
I love lucas but dude he faced showed no fighting spirit..i was disappointed

Berto just had a new camp and adding new weapons to his arsenal. He got hit way too much but he had a nice W. Can't take that away tbh

Great main event

Tell me why Berto's opponent was acting like Jonathon Banks vs Mitchell in the 2nd fight? The nygga fought as if he was afraid to hurt Berto. It was like "opps, I hurt him, let me fall back." He couldn't even throw the fight properly because Berto was so shot that he was getting hurt by light punches. :snoop: So now the guy can't throw punches & make it look realistic because Andre's chin is destroyed. I know yall think I'm playing but I'm telling you, if you watching a fight & it looks suspect, I guarantee it is suspect.

Rios should have taken a year off after that Pac fight. Dude slurring like he's drunk. I don't wanna see that fight at all

part of me does because you know those 2 are going to go at it, part of me doesn't because you know they will get fukked up

mike hashad a long string of hard fights...his last 7 fights were fukking ridiculous brawls..dude's durability has steadily gone into the bushes but at least he's lucid and speaks clearly

rios weight draining, eating habits, and brawling has caught up to him..he looked like shyt against chaves and he slurs

this may end up like vasquez/marquez like @King P mentioned
