the more i think about it the more its looking like a cash out move from arum. putting pacquiao in there with a guy thats five foot ten and can box for a fight that nobody was demanding was the worst matchmaking move to give pacquiao. its a move that shows me hes really not trying to think about pushing manny to more big fights or he wouldnt take an unnecessary risk like this. this is looking like a way to phase out manny at the end of his fighting career like they tried to phase out hopkins for taylor.

What's the going rate for regular and PPV fights on Showtime/HBO, and how does that work? Like the $3MM they're gonna ask Showtime for, for this particular fight, where does that rank among the rest? Is that way too much for this fight? Where does that $3MM go exactly? How much are Floyd's fights, etc.?
Also, I didn't realize that Brett Yormark, CEO of the Nets/Barclays Center has a twin brother, Michael...who was CEO of the Florida Panthers. He left the Panthers earlier this year to become CEO of Roc Nation.....hence why they definitely want this Quillin/Jacobs fight (and probably most Roc Nation fights) in Brooklyn.

So, Lucas Matthysse was asked about Adrien Broner calling him out as his next opponent and would he want a fight with Broner or is he still gunning for Danny Garcia. Matthysse said he would love to fight Danny Garcia, because it's alot more personal for him, but if the fight with Adrien Broner happens, then oh well...he's okay with it.
Seems to me Lucas Matthysse is still focused on trying to get revenge against Danny Garcia

. He has won some good fights, but Garcia's resume is still fairly ehhh to me.
Broner-Matthysse would be awesome. I would love to see AB have some equilibrium problems again.
They will spin Quillin off as going after a better matchup in Jacobs...but Korobov was a very good matchup as a mandatory and career making money.
My guess is IF Quillin-Jacobs gets made it will be done in a timeline where Quillin would have had time to make both fights and instead we get one fight and robbed of seeing another very good fight.

- Canelo will fight Dec. 6. DLH still wants to work with Showtime and build a relationship with HBO again. Still predicting a good chance the fight lands on HBO. 3 opponents have been listed as finalists to land the fight: Kirkland, Clottey, and Andrade. Wants the fight to be at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Fight will be on regular broadcasting, not PPV.
- Bradley will fight on Dec. 6 or Dec. 13. Negotiating with Chavez. Bradley has already accepted the fight. Chavez isn't completely finalized, but will agree. HBO is the last part to need to agree and sign off.
- Arum wants the second fight for Bradley's card to be: Gradovich vs. Vetyeka. Both fighters have agreed, HBO needs to sign off. If they won't sign off for it on the Bradley card, he wants it to be on Crawford's Nov. 29 date.
- Roc Nation offered a contract to Rigo, but withdrew the offer as his co-promoter Caribe was too difficult to deal with. Frank Warren has also offered.
- Andre Dirrell is expected to be back on Oct. 8 on the undercard of Soliman-Taylor (ESPN2).
- Roc Nation bid $1.904 million for Quillin-Korobov. GB bid $1.207 and Top Rank $515k. Fight was originally intended for Barclays, but was going to be moved to the DC Armory as Korobov has a medical problem (not listed) that NY won't license...but all other states will license.
- Cotto will sit out the rest of 2014. Cotto said that due to Pacquiao's date of Nov. 22, Roach would not have been ready to work with him in full during camp.
