thats boxing politics for you...that zab fight is one of the reasons that made me goabout floyd but thats for another time and discussion...politics and bullshyt fukking up the divisions
khan needs to learn that struggling to W's does not earn you shyt..but he knows he's one KO loss away from having to go back to the drawing board...he'll be in the same boat as paulie malignaggi
lol what kickboxing event is that from?Bradley v Provodnikov

illiterate? Dont try an insult my intelligence like you saying something brilliant fukk nikka you in here posting a whole lot of nothing trying to save Swift from taking any type of responsibility for decisions made on his career ol "back in the day I used to think like you ass nikka".. So the fukk what if he's 25. His ass wanted the softest touch possible and then demanded a 142 catchweight against a lightweight.. why you saving him,
Like its not exactly what Danny wanted
I dont have to name shyt nikka you already named enough. Now either you saying them nikkas are ducking, or pricing themselves out(which is still ducking since they're neither a champ nor a draw and should have little to no say in their purse and should happily take 100k)
What else could you possibly be implying to why Al Haymon couldn't get a better opponent besides Salka for the showcase to fight Swift for a belt or not even for a belt, but for a chance to headline on a Showtime main event.. If you not saying they ducking what are you saying?? He could've fought Lundy who said he would be willing to fight Danny for free.. what happened there?? Did he go from that to pricing himself out?? Did he not agree with the venue?? Did he have some other big obligation on that date?? Or possibly was he never considered at all as an opponent since he's not a soft enough touch..![]()
Which makes my point..if he would acquiesce to his #1 asset taking a fight against a guy that was the defintion of big risk low reward then why would he be eager to give soft touches to Haymon's fighters that aren't even signed to GBP?Oscar did not want the Lara fight. It was already set up while his ass was in rehab. There's interviews out there where he clearly stated that he hated that fight. There are reports that they got into it over the fight.
I don't want to see Brook against Rios or Lopez to be honest. So Hearn said he wants either Brandon Rios or Josesito Lopez for Brook in December.
@Jello Biafra exactly why I said I wasn't getting my hopes up. They're gonna take an easy fight and build up for a Khan fight next year.
Which sucks, because Brook actually call out Thurman. Oh well...
I fully understand the influence and control that Haymon has over his fighters, I just don't like it.breh...here is what you dont understand. manager, advisor, promoter, matchmaker, network, etc....ALL wear the same hats at one point or another in boxing. this aint Basketball or Football. whoever is the most influential will control the brunt of the power. right now that is God in the person of Allah Haymon. you heard nikkas....they thank Al before God.
Haymon is not overstepping jack if he is getting his clients in position instead of letting them play themselves out of position. Every fighter doesnt have an advisor. Every promoter doesnt use a house matchmaker. As far as his clients fighting one another....thats done all day...except its the promoters that usually do it. Like I said above though, it depends on where the power lies. Al has more power than the promoters right now. They not signing with GBP, they are signing with Haymon. He could be fukkin them for all we know...but thats the way it is when a nikka get on a roll.
Haymon is not gonna just stay in the lil box you want him to be in. Also, its much easier for him to hammer out the best monetary deals if he has control over who fights who. Why u nikkas just aint thinkin clear I dont know. Like Marlo said.....you want it to be one way....but its the OTHER WAY.

And at a certain level some of these dudes need to step up and dictate their terms to Haymon since he works for them at the end of the day.
So I agree that a Caleb Truax has to go along with whatever Haymon decides because of Truax's status in boxing. Dudes at Floyd's level and even a step below like Garcia and Broner can exert more control over their careers instead of hiding behind Uncle Al like they have no say in what fights they agree to or not.
Like I previousl;y said...allowing Haymon a high level of control is to be expected with low level fighters but some of his stable are big enough names that they are not so beholden to Haymon that they can't exercise control over who they fight."working for them" is a matter of semantics. you arent looking at it right. there was a point like anything else where Haymon had to go out looking for clients. now the clients go looking for Haymon. lol...I am telling you....that is not the perception behind the scenes....
you just said it yourself...he has control and influence over them. how do you do that for someone you work for?
if certain fighters step up and dictate terms, he could tell them to take a hike.
I am speaking of this from experience, because I have done a lot of things in my life. and when it comes to me offering my consultation as a service.....I have always been able to work best with those who TRUST me to sit back and do what I do. thats why you hired me right? I have had to sever ties with those who come in and criticize everything that I consulted because my methods got results. Thats why they came to me in the first place.
you dont come to someone who is known for getting results and tell them how to do the shyt they was getting positive results from before they even heard of you.
why hire a stock broker if you are gonna tell him the moves to make? why hire a general contractor if you already know how to build? Johnny Cochran worked for his clients too you know...and I'll bet they werent dictating shyt to him. I hope you see my point.

Haymon fighters at a certain star level can't and shouldn't be just taking soft touch after soft touch just because that is who Al puts in front of them out of fear that Al will drop them because those fighters have options outside of Haymon's sphere of influence.
Here lies the problem, you aren't a promoter, you aren't a manager, you aren't a network executive, you're a fan.
It's great that fighters get paid well, I'm all for that but I'm not their accountant nikka, I'm a fan.
