An immediate rematch would get Maidana his biggest pay day of his career so it would be foolish of him to risk that by fighting someone else. Even losing to Floyd again wouldn't do anything to stop him from getting a fight with Canelo.
That being said I don't see Floyd agreeing to a rematch.

ok... Floyd is ducking now right ? :mjpls:

Its not a duck...I just don't see him wanting to do repeat business (especially if it will be another ugly fight) when he claims to only have 3 fights left before retiring.

Ha! Clippers just beat the Warriors...I got some money coming my way. Told people that no team with Andre Igoudala on it would ever amount to a damn thing but folks love giving away their hard earned cash.:smugfavre:

tbh, I would pass on the rematch cuz he didn't earn it the right way. Dude tried to cheat on the gloves. Then, he went in there throwing 3 lowblows and a knee. WTH!!!! That's me though.

Floyd chases money. He'll do it if he feels ppl gonna tune in and buy it

dont fall into the Showtime hype of making this rematch because Floyd is thin on opponents. Floyd (and RJJ before him) gets a tougher than expected fight than expected or loses more rounds than expected...people try and give extra credit.

:camby:

still, I will say, giving the absolute maximum credit to Maidana....he did what he was supposed to do. his will is tremendous and he made this a tough, close fight. the thing that the people on Showtime never mentioned in all the ballyhoo was DEFENSE. Floyd got hit, but the number of clean punches landed on him were still very few. Floyd's defense was excellent....even against the ropes. I think he won 7-5 or 8-4 maybe....

a 2nd fight looks more like JLC II.

still props to Chino....he finally did what you are supposed to do against Floyd....and thats overtax his defense. guys like Gatti, Canelo, even Mosley basically checked out mentally. the thing I always say is....throw punches! Floyd is going to hit you regardless...so why are you afraid to throw? Maidana wasnt afraid to get hit.
He deserves a rematch and everything else he gets.

I think Top Rank & Golden Boy need to get together & seriously look into making Mayweather-Pacquaio. I think both guys need to retire facing each other right now. They should be each other's lost opponent. think this being a close fight brought life back into that fight.

Floyd needs to stop with the bullshyt; he had nothing to do with how this fight went. Maidana wouldn't allow him to fight his usual style of fight.
And there is no way that a cut that stopped bleeding halfway through the fight was bleeding enough to blind you for two fukking round.

I think Floyd was embellishing..but thats me personally. You really dont know unless its you. Blood can get into the eye like that. Still....Rafael Garcia is about the best out there so you may be understating the severity of the cut just because Garcia did such a good job on it.

even though you are right about new life....I still dont think a fight between the two is close. Maidana used the right style and gameplan..plus had the will. Manny doesnt fight in the same style. Only JLC was able to work Floyd like this..but I think JLC did a better job because he intelligently brawled. Maidana did a great job though because he wasnt worried about getting hit...which is something every Floyd opponent does.

I think it's a 60-40 fight. Pacquaio will always be a huge threat to anyone, but I favor Floyd.

I think stylistically, a "Prime" Margarito would have been a serious problem for Floyd. I've always felt that way.

for once for a floyd ppv..the main event was the best fight on the card...the undercard fights were not hittin at all...periban-love would have been nice if periban had actually got his stoppage like he was suppose to..xbmc held me down with no problems :salute:

styles wise i just dont see how pac wins

floyd will have a big reach advantage and will be able to counter him with rights all day

he wouldnt rough him up like cotto and maidana did
