kovalev also may need to do some more roadwork...dude was huffin and puffin a little hard fighting someone that wasn't punching back that much :patrice:

yeah, because he was throwing every shot with bad intention on a guy who was covering up. you can do that against meager competition but that shyt wont fly against a decent boxer or even a puncher who doesnt wait until they are absolutely sure he has finished his spurt to start throwing...like Agnew did.

Naw ESPN need to simply step their boxing game up, and bring Max home also
Definitely agree with this. ESPN has the most money, biggest audience, and a lot of built in marketing/personnel.
Dan Rafael always says the ESPN could take over the boxing game if they committed to it, but they have no desire.
They also may be the only network big enough to lean on the governing bodies and promoters to make boxing better.
But they dont want too...shame...as we have all seen how much they have shaped College Football.

I give HBO some slack for not making Garcia-Gambia, as it sounds like both fighters priced themselves way too high for their popularity and amount of viewers they will draw.
But in reality HBO only has three exciting fights on the horizon Bradley-Pacquiao, Cotto-Sergio, and GGG-JCC, one not even signed yet, and all to appear on PPV. The regular subscribers have a pretty weak schedule. At this point HBO may just need to start overpaying to make good matches, but I bet as long as ratings stay okay they will keep mailing in matches.

Did ESPN do Max dirty on the Around the Horn deal or was that his decision to leave?
Apparently he is back now on SportsNation...never seen it. There is no reason if they are on good terms that ESPN shouldn't put him on boxing full time...but Max has always wanted to be a bigger persona.
Outside of Dan Rafael and an article every now and then from Nigel Collins, their boxing coverage needs a boost. Hell a lot of the good stuff comes from Gangland.
Max would be a good person to team up with Dan Rafael and Teddy Atlas to make their boxing coverage better.

Dunno, I guess I was asking since I hadnt seen it. Maybe that is more to do with the fact ESPN seems like their boxing coverage on the web and TV is pretty disappointing for someone with as much influence as they have.
But I have been trying to steer away from watching ESPN as I have felt their coverage in general has taken a huge quality drop.

Yeah, I was reading up on it and it sounds like his contract was up and ESPN didn't offer enough in re-negotiation - which basically happens to every employee there, so he decided to leave.
