Question of the day #boxing heads. Who's loss is more detrimental to their meteoric rise? #Donaire or #Mares ?

I'd say Donaires L was worst he was hyped to the moon by HBO N got outboxed outclassed N damn near stopped by a much smaller man with "only" 12 wins...then there was 875678 excuses why he lost

Mares got caught, against a huge puncher who was much larger then him N took his L like a man

Mares still got options after the L while Donaire is trying to rematch Vic or fight JuanMa:stopitslime:

good question...at this point id say is donaire...because one loss and ppl have forgotten that he hadn't been defeated since his second pro fight 12 years ago and had a great run at that..he was a top p4p fighter..now ppl think he was a cat that just fought setups and shyt because he was dominated so thoroughly

mares hadn't lost and he had defeated a number of good fighters in a row, barring the atrocity of the first agbeko fight...it was a matter of time before he lost and most of us are thinking "styles makes fights" and "off night".....happens to boxers...now if mares rematches jhonny and gets KO'ed again..then yeah it will be detrimental

I'm going with Donaire on this one, his mystique was brought down a ton, only drawback is Rigo isn't getting the rewards he deserves. Mares at least had some questions labeled upon him so far, no one thought he was invincible, at least in the public eye.

Thank you for your responses gents. Turning the focus to the Donaire/Rigo fight w/ Rigo emerging victorious and now has become persona non grata.

Is Rigo in danger of becoming the new Timothy Bradley or is getting the shine he deserves tied to him getting out of his current deal with Top Rank?
