I have undergone various medical examinations which I am glad to report revealed no broken bones. California State Athletic Commission physician Dr. Pearlman Hicks has informed me that I only suffered a contusion and my eye specialist thankfully sees no permanent injury to my eye.
I want to thank all of you for the love and support you have given me the past few days. I would also like to congratulate Erislandy Lara on a great fight. I'm sad that I disappointed all my fans by not giving them an "El Perro" victory as I truly believe I was on the verge of knocking Lara down for the third time and winning the fight. The sharp pain of his thumb in my eye caused me to turn my back out of reflex and I could not see out of my left eye. I accept the decision made by the referee to stop the fight and look forward to getting back in the ring in the future. I will be back to give you a better show in my next fight."

he erred on the side of caution..can't fault him for that..that eye swelled up ASAP with those last punches..didn't want to see another margarito situation

angulo has made me a fan but he really needs to work on his D...we all know he's a savage and a tough guy...but his last 2 fights he's taken unnecessary punishment...that unexpected war he had with Jorge silva last year should have been a wake up call for him not eat punches all the gotdamn time..but it wasn't and he paid for it against lara...he was so close in putting lara away too

I agree. it's about that time for him to take a step up in competition. He doesn't want to spend his career being a Friday Night Fights staple. Peace to Teddy Atlas' Crazy ass.

really aint all that interested in seeing that fight. potential stinker, but still better than any miquel vasquez fight.

i think that was the most difficult fight in floyd's entire career and i have seen every fight in his career. ive analyzed that fight many times. you should watch it again if you think he never landed any right hands. he lands a big right hand counter on floyd's pull counter in round 2 and i have never seen any other fighter counter floyd's pull counter before. after it landed floyd was much more cautious for the rest of the fight and in many instances was in full out running to get away from baldomir. this was the only fighter that ever gave floyd that much of a style problem. he never had to use his legs as much as he had to against baldomir. there is a reason for that. please watch that fight again you will learn a lot about floyd from it more than any other fight in his career.

I never understood why so many nikkas on boxing forums try to over analyze such a boring ass fight like Floyd/Baldomier. One of the most boring and underwhelming ppvs ever. Only thing I enjoyed that night was the ass kicking Salido put on the fukking Ghost.
