nobody asked, just thought that fight fans would prefer a whole forum compared to 2 stickies

the million kobe/lebron threads was just an example of how the seum in general has a ton of threads made and they can drown out some of the smaller sports

if we gave basketball its own section we would need to do that for all 4 major american sports, since those sports are seasonal it wouldn't work as well as it would for mma/boxing. we thought with the strong following that boxing and mma have, a fight forum would develop into a really dope section of the coli.

im a boxing fan (unfortunately i don't have as much knowledge or acumen as some of you) and enjoy ufc from time to time, this isn't some type of insult. i would love to see this forum thrive and the "tyson would knock out ali in 3" threads be replaced by some of the knowledge i see you guys kick in this thread and the other threads that go unnoticed too often

Unbeaten Adrien Broner (26-0, 22 KO’s) was asked about what his thoughts were about a fight against interim WBC light welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO’s) and Broner claimed it would be an easy fight for him if the fight gets made.

at that writer & article. Maidana is an EXCELLENT opponent for the Can Man. Maidana is steadily improving his boxing skills(the jab especially) with Robert Garcia and has learned from his loss to Devon Alexander. If Broner can withstand Maidana's power and outbox him or stop him, then he gains a new level of respect in boxing and a true spot among the elite at 140/147. THEN we can get down to business and start throwing him in with the Matthyses, Garcias, Alexanders, etc. to GB for making this fight.

Being that Broner calls Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Lamont Peterson his "big bro's", those fights arent available for the belts. Also, Devon Alexander calls AB his "lil bro" and Kevin Cunningham calls him his "nephew", so that fight isnt available for the belt either

Doug Fischer, Editor of RingTV.com, and I very often run into each other online and spontaneously engage one another in debate through instant messages.

That’s what happened during Friday Night Fights, when the Sept. 14 Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Canelo Alvarez fight came up. Fischer believes Alvarez has a great shot to win; I’m going the safe route, Mayweather.

This is how the conversation went.

(7:08:29 PM) Doug Fischer: Not really, but I would [put money on Alvarez] if I wasn't a member of the media.
(7:09:34 PM) Michael Rosenthal: If you feel he is going to win, you should trumpet that. You'll look like a genius if he does.
(7:10:11 PM) Doug Fischer: I'm still a little hesitant to pull the trigger on the “upset special” .. Canelo will have to have a great camp.
(7:11:12 PM) Michael Rosenthal: I think the step up from (Austin) Trout to Mayweather is enormous .. too much for a young guy like that .. I will say this, though: He is much, much bigger than Mayweather based on what I saw Tuesday. They are clearly a weight class apart .. or more.

(7:16:29 PM) Doug Fischer: I've known about Trout for a long time. He's talented and as tough as they come and Canelo outboxed him, made him miss and put him down.

Even washed up Roy would have had too much for him if they fought in a ring
