The reason it lost viewers is because the lack of Americans fighting on the network... Haymon had majority of americam fighters over at Showtime and they were barely fighting so Showtime boxing also died... Who is the common denominator?
Can you post HBO saying this is the reason?
:mjlol:

What about Showtime?
What About ESPN?
What About Dazn bleeding money?

All because of Al Haymon right?

its called a snowball effect.. The moment Haymon left HBO.. boxing's popularity and ratings took a hit and was never able to recover on any platform.. PBC was popping for like a yr and some change and then the ratings and viewership continued to drop as they bounced around networks.. why? Because American fighters were barely fighting enough let alone each other..

Haymon never leaves HBO, splintering boxing apart there is no DAZN boxing to bleed money... all the top players are under one roof there is no imaginary sides of the street Errol Spence

Haymon left with Mayweather. Schaefer and Stephen Espinoza got Golden Boy to leave HBO the next year partly because Mayweather didn't want to do business with Arum (the beginning of side of the street). Schaefer and Espinoza eventually got all the GB roster and took them to PBC so it's all connected. It's business and it's not like any of them HAD to be loyal to HBO but it was a major event in fracturing the spot with one side creating reasons why they didn't want to make matches with the other side

I don’t think Haymon leaving HBO caused a popularity decline but imo he could have done things better later on.
Imo the main problems were…

The over reliance on in-house fights while probably thinking that they can make others on the market irrelevant. It never happened and it just looked bad.

Letting some of his fighters to have long inactive periods.

And finally that he didn’t invest in top talent the way some of his rivals did.

That’s not to deny from PBC that they really built up some stars over the years and there’s still hope for them for the future but now they are in need of some blue-chip talents and a more consistent schedule.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
PBC was more or less trying to do what Turki is doing with Dana... damn near deebo'd Golden Boy for they shyt, and they definitely thought they could attract all the top talent by giving out inflated purses for subpar fights.

It was a war of attrition that they're worse off for, and it certainly led to a bunch of problems we see today.
