Right like Frank Martin was a big fight :dead:
Understood that Shakur will demand more money than Martin but I hope he just peeps the landscape out there and just accept 70/30 or whatever PBC offers him
Even if everything Tank says about Shakur is true, they could market this fight right and still make Tank a bigger star. He can basically erase any questions people have about his resume with a convincing win over Shakur

Frank Martin wasn't a big fight but he was low risk, low reward.

Shakur is high risk, low reward so it needs to be a big fight to make up for it being such a high risk fight. As much as us hardcore fans want to see the fight, this is a business and there's no chance that Al is going to let this happen especially when Tank is essentially carrying the banner for PBC on Amazon Prime.

The only people with questions about Tank's legacy are hard core fans, casuals love the guy and are willing to travel and pack out the house no matter where he fights in America.

Casuals do NOT want to see Shakur fight.

I have Bill Simmons literally texting me that he refuses to even watch Shakur highlights.
The fact he knows who shakur is already shows it’s money

This is a cultural fight, I think we love boxing as much as the Mexicans do, Munguia and Canelo made nikkas money, any Tank fight gon do #s

Another Pitbull fight is clear cherry picking imo, tank turning 30, time to take on risk

How is it low reward? Tank ain’t gettin KO’d by Shakur, at worse he loses by decision, which could set up a possible rematch and start a legacy rivalry

I think boxing fans need to encourage the best fighters fighting, shyt is what promotes the sport

its really a simple concept but yet its the hardest to execute for some gotdamn reason :hhh:

the business of boxing is you gotta make the fights that make sense for fighters else you risk killing their drawing power

canelo has one of the most notable resumes in boxing on top of proven numbers in various boxing things and he is getting criticized left and right..rightfully so

tank is not above that and he will get what canelo gets eventually if he doesnt fight the notables/killers in his divisions

We all want the fight but ignoring reality doesn't help shyt. That's why people were so mad at Shakur's lukewarm couple of performances. He's not generating any buzz to get fans to push for that fight.

It's low reward because Shakur is really talented. Taking an L takes away from the aura of Tank. Shakur has the ability to make him look like complete shyt. Casual fans are bandwagon riders and may abandon a fighter after that fighter takes an L. How the hell is it not low reward considering Tank fighting Shakur won't generate a much larger purse compared to if he fights Zepeda.

If Tank beats Shakur he becomes the king of that weightclass, and arguably the face of boxing. Sounds pretty high reward to me :manny:

So we just going justify Tank ducking so he can cherry pick and get paid :francis:
Honestly I think the Martin fight sales were going force Tank to take higher risk fights in order to generate higher sells and the Loma fight was basically a start in that direction. I don't think Tank can keep fighting these mid opponents and getting 200-350K buys. Shakur probably nets Tank his second highest payday after Ryan

And I think people making claims like Bill Simmons are cap, at least as it pertains to a Tank fight. No way in hell all these people who tuned in to Tank fighting Martin, Pitbull (basically an unknown at that point), Hector Garcia, and Barrios are not going tune into a Shakur matchup. The Shakur fight is way more marketable then all them fights

You do realize I work for the Ringer right? I speak to Bill everyday.

I'm not justifying Tank ducking, I'm speaking on the business.

We all want to see Tank fight Shakur but it's not going to happen right now after the last two Shakur performances. In order for Tank to make the Shakur fight happen, it has to be something in it for him, right now there's no benefit with all downside if he loses.

@threattonature summed it up perfectly.

Nobody wants to see Shakur fight anymore unless its a Teo, Tank, or Zepeda type of fight.

Makes no sense trying to marinate it in hopes of Shakur looking more entertaining against another nikka he supposed to beat. That ship done sailed. They gotta go straight into a big fight next.

You already got nikkas saying they not gon bother with Canelo/Berlanga and you're pretty much promised a KO in that so I know it wouldn't be nothing for nikkas to bypass a regular ass Shakur fight.
