Yeah I agree with you. Haney is way too big for Tank and Tank is never moving up at the pace Devin is. Devin will be at 147 before we know it. Shakur isn't moving up to 140 anytime soon and even if he was, it's flat out bad for business to fight dude. He brings nothing to the table and is boring. He can only hurt your brand.

Speaking of Shakur, I think he really needs to stay with Top Rank. So much of the 135 pound division is over there and outside of fights with Tank or Zapeda both of which will likely take a while to make, he really has everything he needs at Top Rank to be successful if he can just put on more exciting fights.
Normally Id say Shakur needs to bounce to become a Star but the Stars have aligned with TR as they have/will have 3 of the 4 140 belts. So Shakur having 3 belts at 135 by the end of 2025 will be a failure by his team UNLESS Tank watches the Loma fight and smells blood.

Tank vs George in Australia would be HUGE as the Aussie's will subsidize things
and Tank vs Loma can be marketed good from Story telling as a passing of the guard.

PBC and TR work together no issue when there is a ton of money at play.

The thing with Cross Promo is it is never impossible but it will only happen if the "Story" to sell is worth it.

Another thing though is Shakur being all BFF for life with Keyshawn is bad business because them nikkas need to fight too lol

I`m also interested on the Andy Cruz play as they want to fast track him like Loma due to age

Boots is hell bent on getting all the belts at 147 first. PBC doesn't have the welters.

With Bud moving up, it will literally just be Boots and a bunch of Matchroom randoms from Scotland and Zerachusiztebistan duking it out for vacated belts. So Being with matchroom, he thinks, is the best chance at getting the fights he needs to go undisputed. That is if Bud no longer wants to defend against him

PBC will have the WBC and WBA once Bud vacates. WBO is the only unknown

What can Matchbook actually do for Boots at this point? Would have loved to see Boots with PBC.......could have had Spence, Tszyzu, Charlo, Fundora and maybe Bud at 154. It's incredible how weak the 147 pound division is now that Bud & Spence are moving up.

140 might be the most interesting division in Boxing. Really going to be interesting to see how Devin Haney navigates Matias/Teo/Cruz. Feels like Haney will be on his way to being a three division champ soon because I fully expect Bill to manage this carefully and then avoid Boots to get a belt at 147.

We're likely going to look back in a couple of years and Haney is going to have a hall of fame resume better than pretty much all of his peers.

Matchroom can do quite a lot for him, Eddie Hearn has by far the biggest individual profile as a boxing promoter and the most visible, he's consistently all over the media doing interviews and with big outlets and platforms too, he'll be raising awareness about Boots immediately, the problem Boots had was he's a very good fighter but hasn't really been promoted for whatever reason, now he's gonna get someone talking about him constantly and is probably gonna headline him in his own city and also has the potential to put him on major undercards too. Matchroom and Eddie specifically have a strong working relationship with Turki in Saudi also not only with boxing but Snooker too and Boots is a fighter that will surely eventually be in demand there for big fights. Matchroom and DAZN too are a big machine, they have quite a big reach together. There's so many fighters he could fight too, they don't have to be Matchroom fighters, Crawford is a free agent currently, Benn, Crowley may go to purse bids regardless so that could happen anywhere, Barrios isn't locked in anywhere, Giyasov, Cissokho, Rocha, when he moves up Vergil Ortiz Jr (stylistically brilliant fight), Madrimov, plenty of options and new ones will present themselves. Boots is a full champion now and he has that leverage, he wasn't fighting amazing names where he was at so it doesn't matter, he needs to be active and built then later get him the bigger fights. Matchroom do fights all over the world, Boots can get exposure all over which will do wonders for him as his profile stagnated but now it will go up, Eddie has already done several interviews talking about him and promoting him, he didn't have that person or company speaking about him but now he has someone who's extremely vocal and visible consistently. So Boots should be able to get activity, money and raise his profile, if he delivers now he will have the world at his feet. Andy Cruz on his undercards sound great too, they could make some fantastic undercards with some of the talent they have and will be bringing on board and build boxing up again in Philly. It's not the only top U.S based fighters that are currently trying to sign with Matchroom either, there's loads but they can't sign everyone of course, but major top fighters are asking to sign with Matchroom currently, maybe a few will come to fruition.

y'all gotta log off the internet breh. Eddie has not had any success in the USA. Eddie is big dog in the UK, and then kissed the Saudi ring. Them Saudi fights have been PPV flops for the most part (I believe they said Francis vs AJ did less than 40k PPV buys).

That said I think Andy + Boots being on each others cards will be dope, but the question is where will they market them? I would probably aim for 3-4 non Vegas Markets to get a bunch shows in for them, maybe Philly (for Boots), Miami (for the Cubans), ATL, and Houston both for Black folks. Put on some exciting events, pay some celebs to sit in the crowd and post to social media, and hope that can light a spark.

Andy has a lot of Personality to I`m not too worried about him, breh be talking that shyt so it's just a visibility thing.

shyt Devin vs Matias in Puerto Rico with Boots as the Co Main, and Andy Cruz on the card could be a dope ass event from a global standpoint at least (but Boots and Andy will likely be fighting bums).

It's funny you say the internet thing cause it's only on the internet that Eddie/Matchroom are not successful lol. The accounts are public, they are literally making millions and that will be up significantly in the next tax year. Their turnover for last year was over 100 million and that's just boxing. Boxing is global, a fighter would generally make more money in Saudi than in U.S currently. Also no that's incorrect, the numbers that were reported were traditional PPV buy's through TV in U.S, DAZN is an app so most people would have bought it from them even in U.S, the PPV was very successful, the primary market for that PPV was U.K anyway. AJ is one of the biggest and highest paid stars in boxing, his social media following is probably the biggest out of any current active boxer and huge, purses are massive too, done multiple million plus PPV's. Also the U.S part they've done multiple notable and successful events in U.S, more on the way too.

Yeah Andy & Boots should be a great combo, I forgot Devin too or Matias, think they've both said they'd one day fight Boots too, so those could be potential future options depending on when either move up. I think the plan is to market Boots in Philly and make him more celebrated in Philly, that's what I've heard, there's a rumor Fulton might be on that card too. I know some of the rappers and celebs are interested in Boots, most recognize him as a potential future great and star.

Agree Andy has mad personality, if they can teach him fluent English too he will get even bigger, he has massive charisma and can fight brilliantly. Seems like they are moving him super fast too.

Devin is saying he wants Undisputed and to fight Matias yeah, Saudi want Devin to fight there too, lots of potential.

Matchroom is afoot by entities who'd not care about ROI breh lol. The Saudi's are NOT making a profit, and I`m pretty sure Dazn bleeds money hence the price increases + going against their original model by charging for PPVs in addition to the monthly subs.

Matchroom are making a significant profit but yeah true doubt the Saudi's are but they are doing it for other reasons for their country, DAZN invested in a lot of rights around the world not just boxing so they started out losing a lot of money for sure, the boxing income has risen now a lot, never know what will happen over time but for now they seem still heavily invested.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
Sean Zittel launched his own YouTube channel, and looks like he's going to be doing live shows again, like he used to do for fight hype.

If anyone else also likes to throw on boxing podcasts in the background, I always found myself enjoying Sean's analysis and recaps, and would recommend a listen.

I guess I`m saying MAtchroom got the right investors/backers more so than Eddie being some genius. Like I said Eddie has no success in the USA market and his Biggest Star AJ is a Star because of his home country. Thats why I`m like the cards are in play for Eddie to show or prove, because if he can't make boots and Andy cruz stars then yeah dude is the Elon Musk of boxing lol.

They've got the right backers and investors due to what they've done, Eddie has been a massive success, in U.K he revolutionized things with all the stadium fights etc, it's never been done like that consistently before, AJ was selling out big stadium after big stadium, Eddie did Wembley with Froch vs Groves prior too. Barry was successful prior to Eddie but Eddie took it financially to next levels, Barry speaks about it in the interview I'll post at the bottom, don't like Piers Morgan but in that interview Barry says how Eddie made their business rise significantly from steady growth under Barry to massive under Eddie. In U.S I think Eddie has done about 8 or 9 Canelo fights, the Billy Joe Saunders fight at A&T stadium had a massive crowd and was very entertaining, was a great success, several of those fights did very well and were the biggest U.S PPV's of the year they were in, also did AJ vs Ruiz 1 at sold out MSG, historically Taylor vs Serrano at sold out MSG, first time that's been done in a women's boxing fight and was exceptionally well promoted, fight was epic too, talks of doing the rematch now too potentially at The Sphere in Las Vegas. They've done a lot of good fights in U.S quality wise too. Bam vs Sunny Edwards was a great watch, Hitchins vs Lemos was competitive, Haney vs Prograis, Serrano vs Cruz etc. Eddie can be the mouthpiece for some of these talents and help them secure the money they want, someone like Hitchins has said signing with Eddie has changed his life.

“Ever since I got with Eddie, my life changed. I’m not gonna lie. My life changed. My boxing career got a whole lot of structure. Everything blossomed for me. I feel like if I was with them earlier in my career, I would’ve been had a world championship but everything happens for a reason.” - Richardson Hitchins

More people are tapped into what he's doing now and he's getting spoken about with the likes of Devin when that wasn't really the case before. Boots will be able to be active now and actively promoted and Cruz too, Eddie is a master promoter and talker in that sense, he rubs some people the wrong way cause he has a big mouth but it's great for the fighters, the opportunities he can provide are incredible. The Bivol vs Beterbiev undercard has Bivol on it who's with Matchroom and 5 Matchroom fighters on the undercard, all those fighters are making serious money there for those fights , relationships are key and Eddie has some massive important ones with big players throughout the world. As long as Boots delivers in the ring he will be just fine, it felt really stagnant for him but he messaged Eddie after the reaction to the news saying "wow we broke the internet", this is probably the most people have ever spoken about him and only a day or so ago, they are gonna plan to build him, he has the talent and style in the ring to gain fans.

We can't attribute the Canelo stuff to Eddie IMO. Devin is a product of his own team they do good business and that is why Bob and Eddie enjoy working with them as Devin's team is one of the few who put in work with self promotion.

Bicol got the Canelo Stimulus he is still a nobody, it's just the Saudi's have someone who actually enjoys boxing thus willing to fund. Without the Saudis I really never see us getting 175 undisputed because WBC was legit saying they wouldn't sponsor it due to the Russia bullshyt lol.

I wouldn't use a quote from Hitchins as nikka is where he is because he simply isn't special.

He said it yesterday. He wants to be undisputed at 147. Which is fine and will look good from a legacy point of view. But unless those dudes fighting at 147 find ways to put on some exciting fights to the point where people wanna see their next fights, it probably won't mean much.

So he made a decision that he felt was best for him. Because whether he's Matchroom, Top Rank, PBC, or Golden Boy. It doesn't change the 147 landscape
