Why waste him on a Canelo card then that would be a full house either way?
You are saying they care more about arena attendance than viewership but in both cases if he’s such a draw it makes no sense why he doesn’t headline

I think Crowley will do whatever he can to avoid Boots (especially in Philly), it would be the perfect fight to get Boots back in highlight mode

TBH Boots vs Crowley shoulda been on the Canelo Undercard along with the other 3 WW fights. Literally let it be a WW coming out party for a preview of the division after Bud And Spence to generate excitement.

I think Matchroom prob offered Boots a Decent Bag + Activity promise, but Boots doesn't seem to have long term vision of his career as he is just a gym rat "man I will fight anyone", yeah Eddie can surely help you out on that part lol.

Eddie simply has yet to build an America star, and we can't say Devin because that was all Devin and his team (because if he left it in the hands of Eddie alone he would be Montana Love status or some shyt lol).

I can bet because Boots was not a PBC fighter and only a Showtime fighter, he didn't have anyone really fighting for him hence he sued his promoter especially after Duncan died (I didn't look at the timelines but I would it lines up with Boots literally having nothing lined up).

What can Matchbook actually do for Boots at this point? Would have loved to see Boots with PBC.......could have had Spence, Tszyzu, Charlo, Fundora and maybe Bud at 154. It's incredible how weak the 147 pound division is now that Bud & Spence are moving up.


140 might be the most interesting division in Boxing. Really going to be interesting to see how Devin Haney navigates Matias/Teo/Cruz. Feels like Haney will be on his way to being a three division champ soon because I fully expect Bill to manage this carefully and then avoid Boots to get a belt at 147.

We're likely going to look back in a couple of years and Haney is going to have a hall of fame resume better than pretty much all of his peers.

It will be interesting to see what matchroom can do with Boots. I don't think he got alot of big fights at 147 unless Bud fight him and it should be easy now cause PBC ain't in the way like you guys say right

If boots had personality then I wouldn't trip and even then he would be better moving like Devin lol. I promise you the moment Boots moves up to 154 Devin is going to 147 and will probably Gun for Barrios with the WBC path assuming Barrios isn't knocked off by then OR if Devin goes after Matias since it is an easy fight to make then I can see him fighting 1-2 bum Mandos unless a Teo fight comes up and then getting Boots IBF vacant.

The biggest play I see is
1.Conner Benn fight while Bud gets the WBA from the Saudi (if he goes that path)
2.Boots vs Bud for the 154 WBA subsidized by the Saudi's so nobody can complain about pay days.

Devin needs to stay the fukk away from Boots until they are both like 30/32 ( Boots is a year older than Devin).

By then both would/should be super accomplished and dominate their divisions then then clash at their peak. Fighting before then is bad business and the Haney's know it, folks like to call it ducking being shook but nah IMO that is proper marinating especially since Boots has no personality so he will need the highlights and resume to speak for him.

Haney should forget about Tank and Shakur, as the Boots clash could be his moment. With how big Devin is I can see them clashing at 160.

Yeah I agree with you. Haney is way too big for Tank and Tank is never moving up at the pace Devin is. Devin will be at 147 before we know it. Shakur isn't moving up to 140 anytime soon and even if he was, it's flat out bad for business to fight dude. He brings nothing to the table and is boring. He can only hurt your brand.

Speaking of Shakur, I think he really needs to stay with Top Rank. So much of the 135 pound division is over there and outside of fights with Tank or Zapeda both of which will likely take a while to make, he really has everything he needs at Top Rank to be successful if he can just put on more exciting fights.

Boots is hell bent on getting all the belts at 147 first. PBC doesn't have the welters right now

With Bud moving up, it will literally just be Boots and a bunch of Matchroom randoms from Scotland and Zerachusiztebistan duking it out for vacated belts. So Being with matchroom, he thinks, is the best chance at getting the fights he needs to go undisputed. That is if Bud no longer wants to defend against him
