Funny, I was just saying that today in the Richardson Hitchins fight thread. Matias beats everyone at 140. Dude has heavy hands, never rushed, has the ability to trade inside, great hand speed, etc
Actually I'll take it one step further and say I think he stops every one

Everyone excepts Dream.

Idk man that just seems hard to do, dude is a dog and stays on you.

Exactly. Being "outboxed" is an empty statement. Both Andrade and Caleb Plant outboxed Benavidez, and what happened in that fight?
Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant outboxed Canelo, and what happened in that fight?

To combat a fighter like Matias (brawler with elite power), you need to have a combination of elite counter-punching ability, strength in the inside, and power of your own. All of the other 140 title holders have 1, maybe 2 of those 3 attributes, but none have all 3. Matias will take advantage of that

He gets hit too much and hasnt really fought anyone like teo or haney yet so Im not sold that he is on their level. I think Haney beats everyone in that division. I could see him outboxing Matias for 12 rounds for sure.

Matias v pitbull is the match to make tho as its guaranteed to be entertaining
You’re right that Matias hasn’t fought bigger names at 140, Ergashev though, is a really big puncher at 140, and out of those names above, only perhaps Teofimo is a harder puncher.

Matias took 100 of the biggest shots that Ergashev could throw, and he not only walked through them, he smiled doing so.

The Ergashev victory from the other month is absurdly underrated by both the boxing public and journalists/personalities alike.

He can get hit, but tbh I don’t think he cares, that’s what makes him so dangerous.

I saw an interview on Millcity boxing where James claimed he wasn't paid for this fight and that he was told to take it easy on Razor Ruddock. That's crazy if true. Man too old to be fighting for free.

The timestamp is the 0:19 mark

Y'all let's have a conversation,

I like subrial Matias... A LOT.

It's not crazy to think he beats all the champs at 140 (and tank) right ? :patrice:

I feel like bro is a monster and I think he stops pitbull ugly and early too. Mexicans stay gassing up this pitbull nikka too but I don't get it. He doesn't TCreally move the needle for me, B+ level at best that's getting gassed due to taking tank 12 when tank was fighting one handed and smoked him.

Am I glazing or on the right track?
He will give any of the top guys at 140 a run but he needs to fight a champion or a big name. A lot of fighters I think avoid him cause he’s under IBF rules right now. You fight a monster like that you have to be at your best not worrying about rehydration clause. Time will tell he should hopefully get a big name later this year. The division is moving in the right direction.

@TheNig

Rick Glaser said PBC flopped on the PPV numbers, under 50K buys

Yall gotta stop posting this senile racist as a legitimate source. Multiple people who have sources within the promotion companies involved have said they were very pleased with how well this card did via PPV.

Amazon doesn‘t release numbers for anything (content related or otherwise), so how does some “LA based entertainment attorney” (LOL) know more than anyone else? It’s fine to speculate; no one knows :yeshrug:but Rick presents himself as an authority when he’s not

RicKKK even tries to save himself at the end by saying the card was very good artistically, he knows he’s flat out hating:mjlol:

He was saying PBC was going out of business a decade ago, and said they didn’t have any money for Canelo 2 months ago, yet here we are.

The biggest fights and biggest fighters have to go through Premier Boxing Champions. When PBC isn’t involved you get Bud fighting for pennies on BLK Prime (now he’s back begging for a PBC fight) and Devin/Ryan Garcia not being able to sell out even half of the Barclays.

matias can beat all of those fighters with his style

to beat this version of matias you got to have a mix of physical intangibles and skills...ananyan managed to catch matias that was not in the most optimal condition, physically and mentally, to get that win...ananyan had a chin, willing to work on the inside, and trade with matias which is why he was able to get standing 8 on him in the first fight..esp when matias started fading

matias had also walked through some guys that can crack so he's not going to be dissuaded that easily..although its not a good thing because these type of fighters get their chins cracked at some point...it happened to margarito eventually lol

with those 4
tank has the best chance of knocking him out but tank's tank would be tested big time esp if he's taken into the later rounds
haney has the best chance of decisioning him he has the skills but that chin of his would be the outlier
teo's power at 140 has not been that impressive...if he can't hurt matias he's not going to win because his boxing outside of the loma fight has been average
cruz doesnt have a prayer in beating matias...he's smaller, comes forward, and doesnt necessarily punch above his weight

Yeah, he’s one of those guys that has a limited but entertaining style, and when he starts fighting the top guys in the division, he’s going to be in a lot of trouble on some Edison Miranda shyt. It’s easy to get enamored with those kinds of fighters, but they normally run into someone sharper, a harder puncher, a higher ring IQ, etc. I think Teo would probably stop Matias. I’ve noticed Teo is a way better fighter sans Nakatani when guys come right at him. When he has to go try to find you, cut off the ring, get into range from the outside, etc. he looks lost. A guy right in front of him, though? He’s going to hit with some shyt at some point. I also think Teo is a fighter that fights to the level of the competition. He’d be up (No Diddy) for Matias. I don’t think Matias could win more than a couple rounds against Haney. He would probably beat Garcia. I don’t rate him. Tank stops Matias off a counter.
