As a Muslim, I don’t agree with the name changing that quick . Especially to Arabic one, not at least till he understands or able to pronounce it.

You can still be Muslim and keep the name Andrew. Makes no difference.

However I wish him very well and Allah keeps him steadfast in his belief though

Team Inoue Eyes Tokyo Dome, Saudi Arabia As Hosting Locations For Planned Three-Fight 2024 Campaign

Naoya Inoue will not be able to create as much history in 2024 as has been the case in his past few years.
The big event plans in store for the year ahead, however, could make him a lot richer.
Hideyuki Ohashi, Inoue’s career-long promoter and head of Ohashi Promotions, revealed plans to bring the four-division champion to the famed Tokyo Dome for at least his next fight in Japan. A trip to the Middle East could also be in the cards for Inoue’s forthcoming campaign.
“For [Inoue’s] next fight, I'm thinking about bigger venues, and I'm also thinking about Saudi Arabia,” noted Mr. Ohashi to media members Wednesday. “The Tokyo Dome is an option."
The concern over fighting in front of a limited audience was raised after Inoue’s tenth-round knockout of Marlon Tapales on Tuesday to fully unify the junior featherweight division. The historic event took place in front of a jam-packed crowd of 15,000 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. The same venue has hosted each of Inoue’s past three fights, each time left with more fans on the waiting list than they were able to grant entrance.
Tokyo Dome boasts a 55,000-seat capacity. The venue has only hosted two major boxing events, both headlined by then unbeaten, undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson—including his monstrous February 1990 knockout defeat to Buster Douglas in what remains the benchmark for historic boxing upsets.
As previously reported by BoxingScene.com, Inoue and his team are currently in talks for a fight versus WBC mandatory challenger and former two-division titlist Luis Nery. The bout is targeted for next May.
With a win, Mr. Ohashi noted the possibility of a title defense versus WBA number-one contender Murodjon Akhmadaliev—whom Tapales dethroned to win the WBA and IBF titles in April—for Inoue’s Middle East debut. Such a bout would take place in September.
Inoue himself floated the idea of a voluntary title defense versus former three-division titlist John Riel Casimero as a third fight for 2024. Mr. Ohashi was not quite as giddy over the matchup, though Inoue views the matchup as unfinished business; they were due to meet in an April 2020 bantamweight unification clash in Las Vegas which was canceled due to the initial wave of the global pandemic.

I think Tank is mostly focused on boxing, but if Islam can make him remove all the other external goofy shyt he occasionally gets into it can take him to another level
kind of funny he did this at a mosque deep in the trenches then immediately threatens to put hands on somebody
Not sure if this is just a publicity stunt or not. Being a muslim athlete sells nowadays either in general and also soecifically because the Saudi oil money being involved.

W/e though to me he could be genuine or not, he could be a believer of ancient Egyptian or Greek gods just start to fight top guys already. :heh:

yea that house buying thing looked like a classic PR move but converting religion and legally changing your name seems like a heavy investment for some PR points
I'm leaning towards Tank really trying to change his life
But this religion stuff is fluid, long term it could mean a lot or it could mean nothing. Tyson got out of prison and turned to a super muslim only to slowly evolve into a character white people love who smokes weed all day. Maybe in 5 yrs Tank is reciting hadiths in the ring post fight or he could be back in the club only time will tell :yeshrug:

Speaking of Saudi's it would suck if they want to throw money around but PBC guys can't take full advantage due to new obligations to Prime.

Why? The Saudis are not a rival network. They funded TR, Matchroom, Queensberry, etc. cards on different platforms.
They don’t care who they work with, tey just care about sportwashing.

relax. weren't people criticizing Bud for being boring and not promoting himself, now he's constantly promoting himself and staying in the boxing news cycle, despite having a fight no one cares about, and now that's a problem :dead:
there not being a bud era got more to do with him being frozen out more than anything, he was begging for the spence fight 5-6 yrs ago. it is what it is though. At least he been top 3 P4P over them years and got paid. Now he's #1 or #2 PHP at worst likely until he either retires or loses
Bud isn't promoting himself he is crying on social media like his daughter Shakira.

Bro ain't promoting no projects collabs sponsorships or shyt lol
