Yeah Louis was mentally ill later on in life & hooked on drugs. I don't think it was boxing that caused his mental illness like you said but it definitely didn't help. I forgot about SRR truthfully but you're definitely right. I just remembered seeing a documentary years ago & he was definitely damaged

Sugar Ray was messed up. That lady basically took control of his life knowing he was in a damage state and cut him off from the rest of society.

I kind of wondered about Tommy Morrison. Later on he started saying some really wacky shyt, like how he didn’t have HIV, how “HIV is just a piece of dead skin”, about the times he teleported himself out of danger, etc…

Was he brain damaged from the ring? From too many drugs? Mental illness? Maybe just major major denial and he liked saying outrageous things?

Probably both truthfully. At first I thought he was in denial about his health. He took some major damage from big punchers. Ray Mercer & Razor Ruddock both damaged him; especially Mercer :scust:

That could've been career ending

Yeah he was pretty bad in his later years. Having a great chin sometimes isn't the best for life after boxing

he was in denial...what killed him was the HIV..complications at least...he might have had issues with all of the above..but it was clear what killed him

I remember an article about him a few years before he died. He adamant about not having HIV. Started making me believe that he didn't have it until he got on that conspiracy shyt

It fuked with his punch resistance. I'm surprised he doesn't have any neurological damage

Jury is still out on that though. That type of stuff can pop up in an untimely manner. I'm sure he has some small lingering stuff. I think that Johnson KO was the worst out of all of them imo.

I don't even want/like watching that KO & if I remember, he was hit on the side toward the back of his head right? And I'm sure his head slammed to the canvas on top of that

Temple shot had him out cold standing up, the fall then after with no resistance caused him to hit his head on the mat. I can't even imagine the reboot his brain went through. He even tried to get up in the middle of it, can't say dude didn't have any heart.
