The thing is Bud and Spence could have been meeting at 160 now if Spence just kept moving up and it essentially be the equivalent of Charlo vs Canelo.

Spence already started his career and won titles at 147. All he had to do was face Crawford in 2018 or 2019 at 147, then later on face each other at 154 or 160. All of this could have been done years ago. I get that Spence wanted to "marinate it", but it kind of almost killed entire buildup to this fight

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
I really don’t understand these new boxers today, man. Shakur wouldn’t take 25% for all the fukking belts, but he wants Frank to take 25% for a vacant title. If Frank was SUPPOSED to take to 25% then you were SUPPOSED to take 25% to fight Haney, but you didn’t.

On another note, Spence gotta feel played. Breh gave up every concession to make the fight happen, gets beat down, activates the rematch clause, and I imagine he hoped Crawford would be like yeah, we can do it at 154. Hell, you’re the reason the first fight happened….

Bud knows at 154 Spence is an issue which is why he won’t do it.

He knows at 168 he has no expectation to win and he can SNAC his way to a competitive cash out against Canelo, probably with limited testing which Canelo prefers :sas1:. He can’t lose even if he loses. “I took the challenge to do something no else has done, hats off to Canelo” etc.

Spence might as well move on with the rest of his career then. The way Crawford handled/acted in the previous negotiations it would be even more of a pain now that he has the belts.

Me personally I would rather Spence move on and find Glory at 154 and then if stars align Bud vs Spence 2 for Bud's retirement match in say 2 years lol.

I feel Spence cannibalized himself staying at 147 so long. Spence legit should be 160 undisputed right now.

160 right now

Having said that the beating he got probably took a lot out of him, don't see him having much success either at 154 or at 160 after that

Spence fans should be happy if this won't happen, no sensible fan wants a rematch for that, it's just that a very popular fighter with lots of hardcore fans lost a long-standing rivalry in spectacular fashion and feelings have been hurt by that so now we gotta listen to these delusional takes about how division will make the change.

Like you guys just totally ignore ALL the technical aspects of Bud dissecting Spence's style. How his jab nullified Spence's whole game. Will Spence be faster at 154 than Bud? No. Would his timing be better than Bud's? Also no. And if he takes the punches better at 154 that's only gonna make his suffering longer.

If this is a way to sidestep the rematch then good on Bud and probably good on Spence too, this is the most merciful way to avoid it. Bud gets to move on to do other things, the public doesn't have to watch a senseless rematch and Spence's pride remains intact as he activated the clause but he doesn't actually get years from his life sapped away in a half-hour or so.

:ehh: If that is what Spence wants, That man deserves his rematch/another big payday after all of the BS he went through to make the first fight. Simply do the smart thing and stop the fight if there is any indication of a repeat happening, that's on the ref and trainer included. No one wants to see it again at 147/boxing dude in to fight at that weight again is a weak move though. All of this is null if Spence fails any physicals.

What do you expect to be different for Spence at 154 as opposed to what happened at 147?

ppl still not understanding this is the terence crawford era of boxing right now :francis:..im hard headed and even i can see crawford runs things now

have we learned nothing from the fury vs wilder situation and levels of separation?

you can apply that to crawford and spence...the only tangible thing that can possibly change things in spence's favor is if crawford starts declining because of age - hes at the tail end of his physical prime...and thats a big IF because crawford has every advantage over spence...and i mean every intangible...there is nothing that spence is better than crawford at in boxing...going up in weight where both looking like thinner at 147 would be the same thing except spence maybe a little sturdier to take the asswhooping crawford will give him...and thats something you dont want to see happen if youre spence
