If Fans still show up + Tank makes a shyt ton of money why should he care? "Legacy", dude already talk like he got early stage CTE lol.
He always talked like that, excuse the lack of drive to fight the best if you want I'm just gonna stick to my view that this is a sport where legacy matters and fans should see the best fighters clash with each other instead of collecting checks against whoever their team puts in front of him.

This is America, we don't know why breh entered boxing. Looking at his background 9/10 it was to make as much money as possible.

One thing I hate about fans is we speak from a place of privilege. We aint gonna pay these folks bills when they are retired, and most these legacy dudes bootleg fights (look how many dudes beg for links weekly).

America isn't one of these countries where Sports = National pride. This country doesn't give a shyt about Black men so I don't knock any black man getting as much money as he can, and going out with his faculties.

Ali is the GOAT and look how bad he went out. Nah big dog.

Tank Davis vs. Garcia Fight Has To Happen With DAZN’s Involvement, Golden Boy COO Says

LOS ANGELES – Soon after Ryan Garcia rocked and dropped Javier Fortuna three times and scored a sixth-round knockout, fans at the Crypto.com Arena started chanting “we want Tank! we want Tank! we want Tank!” in unison.
Garcia has been very vocal over the last two years that a fight against Gervonta Davis is the one he most desires.
As the adage goes though, that’s easier said than done.
Garcia is tied to Golden Boy Promotions and streaming service DAZN, while Davis is tied to Mayweather Promotions, Al Haymon’s Premier Champions Boxing, and premium cable network Showtime.
Adding another obstacle to the mix for staging the super fight, Garcia is now adamant that he plans on exclusively fighting at 140 pounds after making his division debut against Fortuna. Davis has fought across three weight classes – 130, 135, and 140 pounds – in his last four fights. His last two fights have been at the lightweight limit.
Another bargaining chip on the negotiations table is who indeed is considered the A-side and is the bigger draw.
Golden Boy announced that Garcia, a Southern California native, drew 11,288 for the Fortuna fight, while the Baltimore-bred Davis pulled in 15,580 fans for his fight against Isaac Cruz in December in the same venue in December for his Showtime pay-per-view fight.
Garcia made a guaranteed purse of $2,000,000 for his fight against Fortuna, per the California State Athletic Commission.
Executives Oscar De La Hoya and Leonard Ellerbe have both insisted that all roads go through the fighter they each represent.
On Saturday, Golden Boy Chief Operating Officer Robert Gasparri further shined a light on the company’s stance on a potential fight.
“That's the fight that everybody wants. We will have to come together as promoters and do what's right for the fans. You can't have one network say, 'no, we have to be exclusive.' We're with DAZN, and DAZN has been great to Golden Boy, so DAZN has to be involved in that fight. They have done it already with other promoters and networks. Why not share it?” said Gasparri.
“That's going to be a big fight. We're going to have to find a big enough location. I wouldn't mind it at Crypto.com Arena.
“It is very realistic [for a fight to be made]. I like Stephen Espinoza. He used to work with Golden Boy. You know, anything can happen. I hope everyone writes about the fight, but there is no way we're going to do it without DAZN. DAZN has been with us building Garcia. How would it be to just take him away and do it exclusively through Showtime? Showtime has done split broadcasts, so there is no reason why they shouldn't do it this time. It doesn't make sense. It's not going to happen. It's going to happen with DAZN.”
Earlier this week, Espinoza doubled down on previous statements and told Jomboy Media’s Dan Canobbio that he doesn’t believe the fight requires two platforms to push the potential fight.
“Ryan Garcia is not exclusive to DAZN. I know Golden Boy is. But the reality is, it's an interesting and ironic change of events. They've spent three years trying to go around us to get to every fighter that we have. Now all of a sudden they've figured out, 'oh, let's go to them.' I don't think we need two platforms in this. I think there are plenty of other ways that are fair to resolve this,” said Espinoza.
“Golden Boy has a deal with DAZN. I don't think Ryan Garcia, personally, has a deal with DAZN. I'm not the expert on that aspect of it. But it's not as if they signed Ryan Garcia to an exclusive contract. I mean, DAZN repeatedly said, 'hey we're going to Deontay Wilder, the Charlos, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, and all of these guys because they weren't signed exclusively to Showtime.' Well, shoes on the other foot now. Why would we need to go to DAZN when DAZN isn't signed to Ryan exclusively?”

im just anticipating tank and ryan fighting somebody they shouldn't be fighting next and ill have to go in again :heh:

Agree to disagree

Based on this I could be on a 0-24 guilt trip for even being a fan of a sport where ppl punch each other in the head. Nah... it's totally normal that you expect the best to fight the best.
I won't pay his bills once he retired but lucky for him he's already a multi-millionaire, if he's smart enough he already invested some of that, bought a few properties or something and he's set for life, possibly his children and their children too.

Besides, if he goes a free agent there will be more opportunities to make the big fights that also come with bigger money, and more of it lands in his pocket too, it's just his promoters want to keep milking him.
Ironic cause once Mayweather himself went off to be a free agent and earn huge money while he built a great legacy at the same time, the perfect example that they don't exclude each other.

Ryan Garcia will leave GBP soon enough, just my opinion.
Tank and he deserve each other, the two guys that don't care about fighting top guys but trying to get off of clout.

Still holding out hope of Tank going free agent instead but looks more and more like he stays with Mayweather and Ellerbe who both clearly stated they don't want anything to do with the likes of Haney or Shakur or for the matter anyone that isn't with PBC and could be a dangerous opponent to Tank, they just want to milk him longer and if he stays with them despite having the juice to go free agent he's basically agreeing to it.

If Haney could go free agent no reason why Tank can't, it's just one of them says and does the right things and the other does not. Let's hope he starts to

Haney signed to Top Rank for 3 fights … 2 left how tf is that being free :mjlol:

Aren’t you the same nikka who supported Tevin Farmer turning down SEVEN Million to fight tank ?? Bu bu bu bu he can stay at DAZN N make more money why does he have to leave DAZN… remember that?? Cuz I do …. I kno I kno bu bu bu but somehow it’s different… save the effort breh.

Boy I tell ya when you biased you go full fukking biased :heh:

Tank isn't Haney though.. and niether is Ryan... You're talking about completely different mentalities.. Tank admitted he never even asked for any of the big fights... Ryan all of a sudden claim he doesn't care about belts now that Devin is undisputed.. they not looking to go free because they're content in the situation they are in.. highest reward for the lowest risk..

Argument can be made that they decreased dude’s value though.

DAZN didn’t build Garcia, he brings everything on his own. I mean..look at the pre fight video numbers DAZN posted from promo vids all week. Highest one on fight week didn’t top 50K. This fight belongs on with the big dogs. Their promo for this fight was weak, and the tickets reflected it. Their broadcast production was even weaker. I’ve praised them recently on the improvements they’ve made, yet every time they take 3 steps forward they take 2 steps back.

A Tank/Garcia All Access would break records, considering Tank’s All Access numbers hit above 2 Million with non stars.

If he's that big then there should be no issue with a co-promotion. Let it be on both platforms. :manny:

Aren't you a Tank fan who wants the best for his career? :heh:

How does staying with Mayweather and Ellerbe who are content milking him and not making him the biggest fights moves him more forward than being a free agent and taking the best offers for the biggest fights?
Does he not have the juice to make the move? Does he not want to fight Shakur, Teo, Garcia and Haney instead of Rivera,Valenzuela and Martin?

Haney put himself in a position where he could become undisputed cause he realized being exclusive with Hearn and DAZN won't cut it at 135, and it worked out for him even with having to take a 3 fight deal. That deal is done in a year or so, he didn't have to tie himself down long-term and he isn't in the same position as Tank who drives a bigger revenue.
