Tonight’s main event has put me in mind of a hypothetical match up, and I have to admit, I’m torn. So let me consult my fellow Ring Brehs: Prime Canelo vs Prime Ward at 168 - who you got?

Prime Ward, he would big boy/wear Canelo down. Canelo gets schooled imo. Aside from Mayweather, Ward is better than any other boxer he has faced.

right. Joshua increased the hell out of his profile from 2015 to about 2019 by being crazy active for a highly regarded heavyweight in THIS era. I’ve noticed that cats on the P4P list are typically the most active fighters

Yes but in all fairness, AJ was on the come up. He became a pro in 2013, so I would expect heavy activity early in your career.

I’m referring to guys at the championship level. These guys could really benefit by being active. Not every opponent has to be top tier. Even with a tuneup, you can use that tuneup to promote yourself.

Look at Andrade. He has several years when he’s only fought once. The general public doesn’t know him. It’s like how do you expect to get a big fight when you haven’t built yourself up to be an adequate b side option? If I can make the same money fighting Uber Driver Carl from Iowa, what is the point of fighting you? These nyggas don’t want to create a following. Just fight and go home. This dude is really going around saying that fighters in a completely different weight class are ducking him.

@The axe murderer the transition coming soon

:whoo: Japan they got some great fighters there for that weight to get the work done.
Kinda wished he stayed in kick boxing. Eventually takeru and him would have been huge. But boxing going through a renaissance in Japan so I can kinda see why he crossed over.

I've been saying this had these boxers had an idea that fighting often on free TV and being active on social media would do wonders for them, these idiots are fixed on trying to be Money May forgetting all about Pretty Boy.

PBC let down a whole generation of fighters by only having them fight once MAYBE twice a year

AB
Swift
Thurman
Mikey
LSC

were able to do it cuz they came up during the HBO days N also Floyd undercards

All the ones that weren’t around for the 2010 -2012 HBO wave are no where near the star power ... besides Tank but Tank has TMT N also was on Floyd’s undercard

Spence prolly the only one built up properly since then

one fighter ima always have respect for even tho he self sabotaged his career (or got exposed, whatever you choose to believe) when it came to promoting themselves, being pretty active, and not being a hoe when it comes to getting in the ring is Adrien Broner. I remember slowly getting back into boxing in 2013 and it was how he carried himself, however foolish, pre Paulie fight and how he self promoted afterwards with his brief Youtube show that drew me back into the sport. A guy like say….Haney would do WONDERS to his career if he became more active but also did more ORGANIC self promoting. A guy like Boots Ennis got everything you need to be a star, he just has to get the right fights, right often, and make himself more visible/accessible

Honestly, it kinda feels like the guys you listed put down the groundwork for the next crop to flourish.:wow:

Danny Kool Keith and Shawn was holding down early PBC.

Even Robert Guerrero was turning in exciting fights.:wow:
