Eddie's card had 3 fades and 2 wars that went the distance, one was FOTY caliber

TR undercard undercard had some brutal fades, the main card Ajagba scores a demonic KO of the year and joe smith and maxim vlasov beat the shyt outta each other for 12 rounds..175 represented

PBC card...A stone cold FOTY in the opener...115 represented..a slugfest and a star making fade performance in the co main and main from the 147 B levels

i saw stanionis being compared to from ruslan to GGG last night...the man has a tank and a good pressure game...dulorme was talking about both his hands were hurting from hitting him so much...the scores i thought were a little wide but i thought he won..but he was fighting too one dimensional and he got hit a lot too by dulorme..dulorme can punch too

Stanionis was too fukking hesitant with the right hand. Dude was throwing em like he was waiting for dude to hand him change and a receipt. :hhh:

Plus he got hit way too fukking much. He made Dulorme look the best I ever seen him look before. :what:

He lucky he at slow ass 147 and not 154. Dude is a Ring City card main event upset waiting to happen if he don't make certain improvements. :martin:

I thought he was impressive before yesterday, his style is similar to GGG though a bit more conservative with his high guard (and not the same level ofc). Just couldn't pull the trigger as often as he should have, like LB said. Especially when you're having a guy like Dulorme in front of you who we know is fast but can crack under serious firepower. He should have just gone all out, was way too complacent. Easy to talk from here but you get it...

Let's talk about Jaron 'Boots' Ennis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr.; lets start by analyzing the two fighters and their styles. Let's start with Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Vergil Ortiz Jr. likes to come forward behind a stiff jab, pivoting his upper body, walking over your path the entire time. He keeps a very tight high guard and makes it hard to jab him, simple defense, but it is very effective when done right. He puts together combinations well and has good handspeed, and is not slow of foot, granted his footwork is not flashy, it is very precise though he is rarely off balance. He also likes to circle the ring as well peppering you with jabs. He also punches very hard, and he is still young, he is 21 I believe. He hasn't even gotten his man strength yet. He also attacks the body the entire time you fight. The weaknesses I see in him are his accuracy can be a little all over the place on his power punches. He is precise with his jabs, but he has a tendency to miss the range on his hooks. Also he does not fight as well standing still as he does moving. He can fight off a jab side to side or coming forward, but when I have seen him stand in the pocket and trade I have seen fighters get the better of him in those exchanges. Maurice Hooker was able to stifle him a little standing in the pocket and trading.

Jaron 'Boots' Ennis is a fluid switch hitter. He mixes up his punches in his combinations very well, sometimes switching stances in the middle of his combinations to attack from all angles. He attacks the body and head seamlessly and he has a good use of the Philly Shell shoulder roll. He also slides punches off of his gloves in his rolls, James Toney like defense. Even though he is long, he fights very well on the inside. He also is very young, he is 23 I believe, and he hits very hard. Like Ortiz he still has a lot of baby on his body. He has VERY quick feet and will come at you from all angles, he is very hard to keep up with. He also has the faster hands of the two, granted it isn't a HUGE difference, but it is there. He has a good jab, but honestly I think Ortiz's jab is better, but that is mainly because Ortiz fights a much more technical fight. The weaknesses I see in Ennis are sometimes he will leave himself off balance because of his footwork, he needs to tighten it up, he can take too long of a stride and get caught with a punch he probably wouldn't have gotten caught if he didn't overstep. He also doesn't step back out when he should, he needs to be a half second quicker about it. Lipinets was grazing him with body shots because he wasn't getting back out in time. Also he has a bad habit of dropping his hands, after his combinations at times. I don't care who you are, if you leave yourself open someone is eventually going to test your jaw. Also I would like to see him be a little more consistent with his jab. He has a good one, but he falls in love with his power punches sometimes.

If a fight between these two happens I would see the first few rounds where Ennis would probably use the ring to keep the fight at range and jab him up. Ortiz would be trying to cut the ring off. Ennis is going to leave Ortiz opportunities to hit him because he has that tendency to overstepas good as Ennis is on the inside, Ortiz is better. Both fighters will be landing punches, and it will be a high volume fight. Ortiz has excellent upper body movement and a tight guard so he is not going to take a lot of punishment upstairs. Ennis will have to consistently attack his body to try to open him up, and Ortiz needs to always throw his jab and keep Ennis from setting up his offense. Also attack the body. This will be a battle of who gets the other one boxed off their gameplan first, barring one of them having a glass jaw. I believe Ortiz will press the pace of the fight, and Ennis strategy will be to keep him guessing by using his footwork and angles to keep Ortiz from landing anything big on him, but Ortiz is pretty good at cutting off the ring so he will get moments where he will put some punishment on Ennis, and can Ennis keep the fight from turning into a slugfest, in which I definitely favor Ortiz if that happens.

Right now I would lean slightly towards Jaron Ennis beating Vergil Ortiz Jr. Vergil is a good fighter, but Ennis has a few more tools in his box from what I have seen in them in the ring so far. Ennis has shown me a lot of versatility, Ortiz has not, Ortiz has shown me grit but not versatility. I can see scenarios where both fighters could win the fight, but right now if they fought 10 times I believe Ennis would win 6 of them. With more fights this figure can be adjusted one way or the other. I will say this as long as they can go 12 rounds, they are both ready to step up to the championship level as far as their opposition. This is where we can truly evaluate the two of them, but right now in their development cycle they need to fight iron. They gain nothing from fighting the Maurice Hooker and Sergiy Lipinets level of fighters in the world, Hooker broke his hand, but he was starting to take a beating, Ortiz also did make an adjustment it was simply to attack the body, but he did recognize head hunting did not work, that is good ring IQ, Ortiz was wearing him down. Boots used the entire ring and made Lipinets do and go wherever he wanted. He controlled every aspect of the fight and never even got out of first gear until he kicked it up to second gear and hit Lipinets with a Flawless Victory Fatality. Ortiz so far only has one gear, he is damn good at it though and sometimes that is all you need.

If Ennis has a chin, he starches Ortiz. Starches him easy! He shrugged off Lipinets punches like they weren't shyt so I think he may have some whiskers. People don't realize that the Charlo's dangerous cuz they got a chin and tough. If Ennis has toughness and a chin, combined with that twitchiness, reflexes, speed, he gonna be a hard muthafukka to beat by anybody...and that's including Spence and Crawford too. Dude is an A-level athlete. Time will tell.

I guess we'll be seeing that Showtime schedule rollout very soon
Jermell Charlo-Brian Castano To Headline Showtime Telecast; Date & Venue TBA

Jermell Charlo has secured his chance to become boxing’s fully unified 154-pound champion.

BoxingScene.com has confirmed that Charlo and unbeaten Brian Castano have agreed to terms for a title unification fight. Showtime is expected to televise Charlo-Castano as a main event either in June or July, though the date hadn’t been solidified as of Sunday.

Their fight likely will take place in Houston, Charlo’s hometown. Charlo, 30, and Castano, 31, will fight for Charlo’s IBF, WBA and WBC championships and Castano’s WBO belt.

La Nacion, a daily newspaper in Castano’s home country of Argentina, first reported that a deal is in place for the Charlo-Castano clash. An official announcement of Charlo-Castano could be made sometime this week.

Their 12-round bout will be the second straight title unification fight for Charlo, who made it clear Castano was his opponent of choice once Castano became a two-time champion February 13.

The Houston native knocked down Jeison Rosario three times and stopped him with a body shot in the eighth round of Charlo’s most recent fight, which took place September 26 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Charlo (34-1, 18 KOs) defended his WBC crown that night and took the IBF and WBA championships from the Dominican Republic’s Rosario (20-2-1, 14 KOs) in their Showtime Pay-Per-View fight.

Charlo and his twin brother, Jermall Charlo, co-headlined Showtime’s pay-per-view event September 26. Jermall Charlo convincingly defeated Ukraine’s Sergiy Derevyanchenko by unanimous decision in their 12-round fight for Charlo’s WBC middleweight title that night.

Jermall Charlo’s next fight has not been announced, yet he, too, is expected to headline a “Showtime Championship Boxing” broadcast this summer, at some point after Jermell Charlo and Castano meet.

Castano, meanwhile, will get another opportunity to knock off a prominent opponent in his division.

The Argentinean champion fought Cuban southpaw Erislandy Lara to a 12-round split draw in March 2019 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Castano (17-0-1, 12 KOs) retained the WBA super welterweight title, though he was later stripped of that belt because he declined to defend it against mandatory challenger Michel Soro in France, Soro’s home country, due to financial concerns.

Castano became a two-time champion February 13, when he beat Brazil’s Patrick Teixeira by unanimous decision in their 12-round bout at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. The favored Castano was the WBO’s mandatory challenger for Teixeira’s title.

Once Castano dethroned Teixeira (31-2, 22 KOs), he became the obvious opponent for Jermell Charlo’s next fight. Castano holds the only 154-pound championship Charlo doesn’t own and both boxers are affiliated with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, which made their fight easier to put together.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
I see so many dismissing that charlo castano match like it won't be competitive. Castano no joke.

I disagree. I think Charlo catches him with an uppercut to end the night under 8 rounds.

I'm inclined to downplay Charlo's skills because I don't think highly of Castano, but honestly he IS the strongest and most complete fighter at 54 right now. So I'm starting to come around on recognizing him as a legitimate P4P talent.

Castano is too reckless and doesn't have a strong enough punch to last 12 against Mel. If he's really top 5 P4P like I've seen people state, then he does not struggle with Castano.
