Soooooo.....Wilder just not gonna fight this year? He’ll be out of the ring over a year whenever he fights again and there is NO noise from his camp about calling someone out or in talks for a fight

Teofimo Lopez Rejects Idea of Lomachenko Rematch: Everybody Was Being a D-ck To Me, My Father

Teofimo Lopez is a man of principle. Slight him, or his trainer-father, and expect to receive the same treatment. Which is why, apparently, the unified lightweight champion (or whatever designation the WBC deems is legitimate) refuses to entertain a rematch with Vasyl Lomachenko.

Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) shocked the boxing world with a unanimous points win over Lomachenko (14-2, 10 KOs) in their ballyhooed unification bout on Oct. 17 in Las Vegas. There was plenty of acrimony between the two sides leading up to the fight.

“Because I’mma be a d-ck,” Lopez told Fight Hub TV, when asked why he would not consider a rematch with the Ukrainian. “Because everybody (Team Lomachenko) was being a d-ck to me, my father.”

Nasty conduct aside, Lopez argued that if Lomachenko really wanted a rematch, he would have inserted a rematch clause into their bout contract, which was not done, while hinting that there was some other skullduggery at play.

“He didn’t want to put a rematch clause in our contract,” Lopez continued. “There are lots of other things that I can get real dirty into but I’m not. I’m gonna look the other way. I’m looking for bigger and better things.”

Lomachenko, meanwhile, has offered a different take on the whole rematch clause rigamarole. He took out the stipulation after he was baited by Lopez Sr., he says.

“According to Lopez’s father interview before the fight, he said I would include a rematch clause because I was scared to lose. So I told my manager, Egis Klimas, ‘I don’t really care if there’s a clause so it could be taken out,’” Lomachenko said in an interview with SnowQueenLA. “So after the fight, they said that it was our side that took it out….it’s interesting how they tried to manipulate the situation.”

In the end, Lopez views Lomachenko as a closed chapter; he is off to bigger and better things. Whatever they are, there will not be any cherrypicking, he insists.

“This is where I determine where my future is going to look like,” Lopez said. “And it’s not going to look like a cherrypicker. Never that. I’mma be a fan to the fans. I’mma go out there and take on anyone, because that’s what really matters.

“Cherry pickin’, I know I’m not one…Not Teofimo, not me.”

The fact that Loma is never going to get to avenge his losses to Salido or Teo Is fukking hilarious to me tho.:mjlol:

reread my post. I said the next time he’ll fight, he’ll have been outta the ring for over a year. That was/is my main point about him not being in any talks about a fight being in works for him

I understood where both of ya'll are coming from but its not gonna matter in the long run cuz Wilder ain't fighting again. He's gonna finesse some type of bread so Fury and Joshua can happen and then fade into the background.

He's not going to fight Fury again cuz he knows he'll lose. He's not gonna fight anybody else that's worth a damn, because the risk of losing to someone lesser than a Fury is too great and hurts his legacy even more. There won't be a better moment to retire than now.
