Your logic is totally flawed. If Plant has a high chance of getting a Canelo fight in September as you’re stating, his team wouldn’t even risk putting him in a fights he could lose prior to that.

This attitude is why none of these guys are fighting eachother. It doesn't matter what plant and his team choose to do. That doesn't stop Charlo and benavidez from calling him out. Since they both want to fight canelo then "Logically" it makes sense for them to try and fight plant before september.
Plant should be the most sought after guy in the sport for everybody at 160-168. And plant doesn't strike me as a guy who would turn these matchups down. He might even be the favorite vs Charlo at 168. And if plant were to beat Charlo or benavidez he would become a household name. Which means a bigger payday for him in that canelo fight. So LOGICALLY it makes sense for him too. Plant seems like a dude who believes in his ability. If he believes he can beat canelo then surely he believes he could beat Charlo or benavidez. And once again....whether he accepts those fights or not makes no difference. Charlo or benavidez have absolutely nothing to lose by calling him out. If he doesn't accept then they move on and they're in the same place they're at now. If he does accept then they're in position to land a fight with canelo in September. At some point these guys gotta take some initiative instead of waiting for everything to fall in their lap.

Yea but we gotta be honest....dude has been calling benavidez out for a minute and for whatever reason David doesn't seem eager to make it happen. I think that's a 50-50 fight. But for sure plants resume is garbage. And he might actually turn down those fights down now that he has that canelo fight secured. But my suggestion was still for charlo and benavidez. They have nothing to lose by pressing him right now. If plant turns em down they just move on and let plant deal with the criticismbruh have you seen who he has been facing since he won his title?
You’re not living in reality here. If a fighter truly has a fight lined up with the biggest draw in boxing, which will result in their biggest payday, their team is not going to take any risk. It’s always been that way. It’s the downside to having a mega draw in the division.
Teams will try to position themselves into that fight while minimizing risk. It’s why I’m happy Khan was never able to land a May/PAC fight.
Sure they can call Plant out, but if he has a good chance to get a Canelo fight, an opportunity that a fighter dreams of, there is no reason to accept a fight with those guys. It’s just business. He can worry about them after a Canelo fight.

Once again. You're arguing a completely different thing. You keep arguing about what's best for plant. I could care less about that. I'm arguing about what's best for Charlo and benavidez. From their perspective and their perspective only they have everything to gain by trying to secure that fight. Nobody's arguing about whether or not plant will actually accept those fights. I have no idea if he would and it's not even my concern. And it shouldn't be the concern of Charlo or benavidez either. They need to worry about what's best for their own business.
I understand what you’re saying. Sure they can try, but as I said, if he truly has a fight secured with Canelo as you’re stating, it’s a waste of time. It’s no longer a realistic fight at that point. If you follow the business of boxing, you should already know this.

This was a strange and special year in boxing, considering the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions placed on the sport and throughout the world.
Boxing still went on. Fights took place, and some big ones, featuring great comebacks and amazing finishes.
On Monday, the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA), which has been in existence for 94 years and selects the best of the best in boxing every year, released its award nominees for 2020.
The BWAA will be combining its awards ceremony for 2020 and 2021 together, which will make it the largest awards gala in the long history of the organization. Because of the truncated boxing year, the organization will only present six awards for 2020.
The BWAA already named Katie Taylor as its 2020 Female Fighter of the Year for a second-consecutive year, a distinction she also shares as The Ring’s two-time Female Fighter of the Year.
So, below are the nominees for the five remaining categories. Only full BWAA members are permitted to vote.
Based on their signature victories of 2020, Tyson Fury and Teofimo Lopez Jr. top the list of nominees for the Sugar Ray Robinson Award for BWAA Fighter of The Year. Canelo Alvarez, The Ring and BWAA’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, is also included on the BWAA ballot after his domination over Callum Smith. Fury and Lopez Jr. shared the Fighter of the Year award for The Ring.
The Muhammad Ali – Joe Frazier Award for the BWAA Fight of the Year includes Carlos Gongora-Ali Akhmedov, Juan Francisco Estrada-Carlos Cuadras II, Masayoshi Nakatani-Felix Verdejo and the classic between Jose Zepeda-Ivan Baranchyk, which was The Ring’s 2020 Fight of the Year selection.
The BWAA award winners will be announced Friday, January 22, 2021, and are voted on by due-paying full BWAA members.
