Maybe the most re-watchable boxing match of all time. Including the crowd and what happened afterwards in that statement. The fight itself is madness, but the buzz and energy in the arena just keeps growing and growing until hell breaks loose. Wild night. Other classic matches end when the bell rings.

EDIT: Not reading, thought this was the first fight
Honestly...fukkery aside i didnt like the first fight all that much. Bowe came in out of shape (again) and got battered for it without putting up much of a fight to me.

Golota one of those few heavies that can throw combos coming forward. Hitting bowe with 12 hit combos and shyt

Easily a top five heavyweight fight of the 90s IMO

I distinctly remember watching it on PPV (the scrambler days) and worrying that Bowe was going to die in this fight. He took a scary amount of punishment.

Golota was such a headcase. In the big fights, you could count on him having a breakdown at some point, and being unable to finish the guy if he hurt him. I was surprised years later he fought Mike Mollo on the Roy Jones-Felix Trinidad undercard, and won the fight with a closed eye. All those other fights previously he would mentally implode.

bowe was fat and out of shape - got battered, man takes 50 pounds off in 8 weeks and looks how he did when he became champion - gets severely battered

foreman, lampley, and merchant all of them were saying it was the end for bowe...everyone saw it..then you hear bowe talk afterwards in the post fight interview

golota did redeem himself somewhat later in his career..in a rightful world he would and should have beaten ruiz and byrd for their belts

Somehow bowe thought to himself kickboxing after this is a good idea

he tried to make a boxing comeback in the mid 00s - one of those fights he went life and death with a very lowly jobber - i remember this cuz i was in a bar for a thirsty thursday and that fight was on one of the tvs..he looked so bad

Norman Stone was the best thing about that Golota-Ruiz fight.

I know about that but I thought the one about unifications > mandatories still stand

Unification > Mando .... Always

which was the whole point N why Errybody is :hhh: with the WBO

Now after the unification WBO can force a Mando N IBF can force theirs at the same time N that’s when belts get vacated

there’s no :cape:for the WBO on this one... Usyk team must have influence in the WBO
