aside from the baldy fight, he's always been prepared and in shape to fight. to me zab just never developed skill wise. he's always had the natural talent(speed, power) but he never had a right hook, never was a combination/counter puncher, never was a thinking fighter, and every fight he came into he always had the SAME gameplan................. double the jab and land a straight left. i laughed when paulie said zab had a good jab because zab doesn't even try to land it at times. he'll just throw one or two fast zabs to put it in the face of his opponent than fire a blazing straight left.

when zab can't land the straight left, what can he do? Nothing! and it's sad because in reality he's very one dimensional and for him to come as far as he did with that gameplan he accomplished alot. it wasn't until the cosme rivera fight until zab added that uppercut. it pisses me off to see zab with 8! 8 fukking loses on his resume. aside from tszyu, floyd, and maybe cotto, he should have won all those fights.

you are exactly correct. if Zab had been trained by Manny Steward or Roger/Floyd Mayweather even he wouldve been a better fighter.

Technically he was lacking. Poor balance. Circles away from his power. Never has a gameplan as you said. No creative combos...just double jab, left hand. No right hook. Etc.

One thing he did have that he NEVER stuck to was he was a very good body puncher.

He is not cerebral enough and never worked on sitting down on his counter shots. It is a testament that he has become as successful as he has by being one-dimensional as you said and also nearly everyone he fought against was bigger and stronger than he was. Every WW sure was, like Clottey, Baldo, Spinks, etc...

If Zab only had a great activity rate he wouldve been a better fighter. People wonder why Floyd does those punching drills on the pads but pot-shots during the actual fight :lolbron: Floyd isnt really a great combination puncher. This is by design. When I say that to people they think I am crazy...but a combo is a 1-2 or 1-1-2 and so on. Floyd strings together single shots and people confuse that with combo punching. Floyd does those drills so that it mentally lets him know that his hands have to stay moving and landing accurate AT ALL TIMES. Not committing to combination punching is part of what makes Floyd so good defensively. He rarely opens himself up for counters. Zab mentally doesnt have that because he has never been trained that way. He is basically an athlete with cat like reflexes. Technically, Zab is one of the best fighters I have seen to be as flawed as he is.

Do any of you ever remember Yoel or anyone else besides Sweet Pea actually giving Zab any technical advise during a fight? Zab shouldve been trained by Whitaker from the beginning of his pro career. He wouldnt have been as good as Whitaker but I have no doubt he wouldve been a better overall fighter.

let me start by saying beltholders today wouldve been contenders back years ago. the belts make the public think that these fighters are better than what they really are. its not nearly as hard to pick up a world title now as it was some time ago. Hell, Ishe Smith has a title.

As far as Danny, yes, he deserves props...more than what I was willing to give him before the fight but still perhaps not as much as you may think he deserves. Garcia is solid. He is not as good as Judah was at 25. 25 year old Judah would kill Garcia....simply because the difference in speed was too great. Zab still has good enough reflexes defensively but he cant shoot those punches like he used to.

What it looked like to me is that Danny is a big and strong JWW. He looked stronger than Zab and naturally bigger. Although Zab fought at WW and was comfortable at JWW....Danny looks bigger and stronger at that weight than Zab ever was. Now...either that means that Zab was probably more of a natural lightweight or Danny ultimately is a natural WW who melts down.

I know what you were expecting. You were expecting Garcia to stop Zab or make him quit like Cotto did. Maybe thoroughly outbox him like Spinks did. Neither happened.

Danny didnt impress me enough to make me think he is the best JWW. Style wise I would pick Peterson to beat him. I would see a Matthysse fight as pretty much even mainly because Matthysse doesnt put his foot on the gas enough in the later rounds. I could see Danny eeking out a decision over him. If Matthysee would fight solid every minute, he would eat Danny's food.

If you read my previous posts....I said that Zab has bad balance and fights going the wrong way. Those are some things that played in Danny's favor. The KD was a good balance shot. Zab wasnt even hurt from that because his eyes stayed on Danny the whole way down. Take away that KD and the fight is even closer. (I felt Zab may have won a couple of the early rounds and Danny won the rest until the 10th) Zab wasnt hurt badly, not like he was against Cotto or the enormous Baldomir. He didnt take a sustained beating like he did from Mayweather.

If we use Zab's previous losses as a measuring stick for Danny, then its obvious that this was probably Zab's best loss. It was probably the only fight that Zab had a chance of winning outside of the Baldomir fight.

If Khan could avoid that left hook he would beat Danny. Khan is a good offensive fighter that has an Achille's chin.

That's my assessment of Danny and the fight. He is a solid fighter, nothing more. I dont see him having a reign at JWW much longer and when he moves up to WW with fighters who have more of his natural size and strength....he will pretty much be what Zab is at this point but at a much earlier age. A solid gatekeeper/stepping stone.

Maybe that's not the props you were looking for but thats about as much as I can honestly give him.

Ehhh that was the best Motivated Zab anyone has seen for quite some time N he was getting beat tf down for the most part until the last three rds

The thing about Garcia is he keeps improving with erry fight..
That's why I'm a fan....he's smart in the ring.

The last 3 rds he got gassed he said his arms were tight got rocked by that uppercut zab hit him wit when he spun out of the clinch which was:leon:....Garcia was bloodied N hurt had the lead yet stood there N tried to win the round....that's something special:ohlawd:

Peterson been getting a lot of props lately N I have no fukking clue why....he couldn't drop N needed home cooking to beat Khan while on roids :troll:.... draw wit Ortiz...L to Bradley....oh he sparked ****....the Same **** Garcia beat years ago:shaq2:

Brolic... Alcoholics
Martinez is shot. Next big time fighter he gets in the ring with will eat him alive. Same goes for Zab. But I had no idea Danny Garcia was as slow as he is.

:heh: you're too easily impressed... all this nikka Garcia been fighting is over the hill bums... He let Zab old ass give him that work after Zab shoulda been KTFO early... Zab was literally doing THE SAME shyt the whole fight and Garcia couldn't put him down.. If Khan had an ounce of defense and his jaw wasn't made out of glass Khan woulda won every rnd.. how this nikka improving when he going backwards in competition... wow.. he beat the nikka that got washed by Khan:smugbiden:

The Zab Danny Fought > the Zab Khan fought by fukkin far:rudy:

Zab was doin the same shyt the whole fight?? Really breh?? So I guess when he started throwing the hook N the uppercut in the later rounds that's the same as Zab throwing nothing but Jabs N straight lefts the first 2/3rds of the fight:rudy:

Who was the last person to knock zab tf out?? He quit against Khan trying to convince the ref it was a low blow....again the Zab Danny fought was much better then the version Khan fought.

N like I said before the big bad monster Matthysse really ain't shyt then cuz he fukking lost to Zab

All this is irrelevant

 faq Judah was talking all that shyt and got that work except the last 3 rounds :smugdraper:

Shouldn't be running at the mouth like that if you're not in your prime :manny:

I was in agreement with you breh:russ:
