Or are we doing the eye test over resume?

80s mike. It could be nostalgia obviously but Tyson seemed different pre and post prison. Time away from boxing + heading into his 30s so maybe that's to be expected
It boils down to how good you think current HW are compared to HW Tyson beat
Do we think Wilder, Ortiz, Ruiz type modern HW are better than the Razor Ruddocks and Trevor Brebicks of the 80s?
Just going off the eye test Tyson that could dip the "clothesline" drill with the quickness and land multi punch hook and uppercut combos with Wilder level power :whoo:. I just don't see alot of the modern lumbering ass HW like Kownacki and Joe Joyce beating that version of Tyson

the 80's crop of heavies that Tyson and Holmes ruled over was similar to the 154 lb division we have today where you have a lot of talented guys that could potentially fight over their heads and upset better fighters. Since everybody fought everybody, you'd run into that shyt happening every so often.

The way shyt is now, nikkas is getting steered away from certain styles or opponents so its hard to do cross gen mythical match ups with this era as the favorite when a lot of these nikkas ain't fight enough guys in their own era. Wilder never fought a Ruiz or Chisora so Its hard to say if he beats the pressure guys from previous eras. USS dropped Fury and gave him all he could handle. nikkas can't tell me guys like Dokes or Rudduck couldn't do the same or better.

Tyson would body these nikkas now and guys like Buster Douglas would have also eventually grab a belt from somebody.

Man look it at like this, him going down then winning then becoming the best heavyweight in his generation testifies his landmark. Ali used to get put down on his ass too.. Lol

i dont think fury is the best heavy of his generation yet bro lol...he has to beat joshua for me to acknowledge that..gotta complete that cypher
